• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just a general question.
I have a new 2014 RT-L with 645 miles
I get a Krikit reading of 220 lbs.
Just wanted to know if this is within specs.

Before I pulled my rear tire on my 14 RTS I checked what the tension was and it came up to 200. When I put it back together and adjusted it with it on the ground I set it at about 225. On interstate riding is seems to have less resonance (vibration) occur at that setting. That was the pressure that was rec'd on another thread on here that I used.

The range for my 2011 RS-S SE5 is 200 lbs. to 375 lbs. I set mine at about 350 lbs. A drive blet wears and the pounds will drop. I check mine about every 3,000 miles and is about 350 lbs. Also make sure you have proper clearance on the back drive sprocket. That's IMHO.

UPDATE:

I just had my 2014 RT-L belt tension tested at dealer.
So that tells me that my 220lbs with Krikit ll sitting
on the ground is good.;)

good to be on the looser side of the range. Shaft and wheel bearing take the brunt of the over tightened belts and are rather expensive to replace. Taking a krikit reading after dealer has done a sonic will give you a good reference....:thumbup:

That is exactly what I thought! In my auto repair shop most of the newer vehicles I repair have to be reverse-engineered on how they put them together. Just did a clutch on a 05 Ford Focus ZX4 and the manual was way off on the tranny install. Had to do several things with the subframe and rack to get it back in. You learn to figure stuff out. I have had my own shop 15 years and 20 years experience before then. I'll use their reading to my best advantage rather than pay them to do something I can do myself.
