• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Knowledge Base?

I used to ride a Vstar 1100 and belonged to V-Star 1100 Riders Forum. They have a great forum as we do. There is a feature developed by someone on that site which is very helpful called the Knowledge Base. I sure wish someone with the time and ability could come up with one for the Spyder. Here is the link to check it out if you wish. Check out the list upper left. it sure organizes the information to make it easily found.

This looks real good, I see it being helpful on spyderlovers.Com. I sometimes find it difficult to pull up old threads using the search feature.

I've had some thoughts on this lately but have not had the free time to do anything about it. Maybe in a few weeks when the dust settles in my shop.

What I want to know is: What does hollering "Hey, Bob!" get us?? :):):)

Sent from the corner of walk and don't walk....

That has potential... but the big problem will be getting all the info in, organized, and maintained.
Probably would be most likely to succeed if Lamont got behind it and got the moderators involved...

I don't know why someone else would have to be behind it to make it succeed... all the procedures come right out of the service manual with better photos with circles and arrows to make it easy to understand. I guess the biggest problem is finding it when you need it. Even if it is on the Home page I assume most go straight to the forum like I do, so it would be missed unless the topic is kept active forever. In any case I'll continue to add to it for my reference.

Just a word in favor of the search function. It does work to help me find information that I am looking for. Sometimes I have to make a few attempts by changing the word or sentance I am trying to chase down--but most of the time I can bring up what I am wanting to find.

Between the search function, and the many people who have knowledge about various subjects on the site, I am thinking we are pretty well served as is. Most questions get answered very quickly once they are put out there.

To organize the content of the site in a more precise way, IMO, would be a daunting task to say the least.
