• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Knocking on Right side. Finally Found it.

So I've had this weird knocking sound on the back right side of the RTL. Had the dealer check, couldn't find it. Crawled under to check moving parts etc. couldn't find it. The bumping noise happens when you ride around and hit small bumps or bumpy areas in the road surface. Really noticeable at slow speeds. The other day I was cleaning the bike, and I happened to reach under the right side panel under the right side box to clean underneath and when I pulled up I heard a bumping / knocking noise. Seems the rear side panel, is hitting against the right rear side box. Haven't really opened anything up yet or removed anything but plan to do that soon. Seems the right storage box is loose, and the cover doesnt fit tightly as the left side cover. Thought I had remembered reading about some issues with the covers actually falling off the rear storage bins. Any one else had issues with the side storage compartments. It's a 2014 RTL.

Good news...

Those pesky drips and bumps can run you ragged. Glad you found it and when you hone in on the cause do let us know. :2thumbs:

If your hinge isn't broken then you need to check the screws that hold the painted piece to the plastic lid ( 25 or 27 Torx not sure which)

Thanks for all the advice

I appreciate the knowledge found on the forum. Thanks. I am going to look at it further and am planning a trip to the dealer soon so I will probably have them check it out. May be an assembly issue they will take care of. The little things like this are a bother, but at least I can still ride  til then.
