• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm 5'11" and had both knees replaced - most recent one was in Feb, '08. There's good news and bad news! The good news is that I've had no problem riding the Spyder. Actually with the seat height being so low, it is easier to get on and off of than a motorcycle. I would however, highly recommend the forward highway pegs. After a long period of riding, I need to stretch my legs/knees and the pegs are just what the doctor ordered.

The bad news - and - it's really not bad. If you want to ride the Spyder very agressively in the curves, you have to get your body almost off of the seat, lean forward and "hang on"!! When you "get off", your knee is bent at a maximum angle. I do feel some pain at that point - but I don't suppose a whole lot of Spyder owners will ever want to ride their Spyder like I do - or - at least, try to do.. :a20:

I assume you've ridden motorcycles in the past? The pegs on the Spyder are more ergonomically challenging than say a Goldwing or a typical cruiser. But not as bad as most sport bikes. The pegs on the Spyder are set for an angle lilke most standard motorcycles pegs. If you've got good movement in your knees, you won't have any problem.

Good to know. My wife just got her Spyder in March, but her knee is getting worse by the day, and will need replacement very soon. It is actually a couple of years overdue. She was worried that she wouldn't be able to ride again. Thanks for the peace of mind.

Have you checked out the Spyder training videos? They should answer most of your questions.
