• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Kinda wierd...

I went to New Braunfels, TX for breakfast last Saturday. I parked in the sun, ate and visited with my friends for about one hour. I was parked on an incline, had set the parking brake, which worked great. I came out, got on BR1, fired him up but noticed he did not start the first time I hit the starter button...this is unlike him. On the second try, he started and away I went. After about 100 yards, the orange screen came on and "check engine" came on and off, on and off.... BR1 ran well, no missing, etc. I knew it was hot and looked at my temp gauge..113!

I told Red, I ain't stopping in the middle of no where, you have oil as I checked it and we are going to keep going until you cool down....after two or three miles, my temp gauge went down to 107 and stayed there. After five miles, no more "check engine" and I rode the rest of the fifty miles without incident.

Never had this before in my 3,900 miles and could only think of two things that may have caused this. I was parked on an incline affected the oil level or ?? Or it was hot...and the tarmac could have been 130+ and BR1 got upset.

I rode him 120 miles yesterday with no problem...he ran like a hose....good boy....

Ummm... Maybe these Spyders are smarter that we think. I know I would complain about being in 113 degree temp. I bet the console module was actually a lot hotter. I know a lot of electronic devices don't work well in extreme heat.

heat......

Had a similar thing happen.........rode awhile then stopped and when I restarted "check engine" came on but as I kept riding it would go on and off for a while and then after 10 or 12 miles it went away completely and never came back on. It was "HOT HOT HOT" that day.........

...So when you can cook an egg in the "glovebox", DON'T! Just take a break from ryding with your favorite cool beverage... :2thumbs:

Underneath where all of those birds are roosting? :D That could sure make for an interesting conversation at the AutoParts store...
"Whatta ya got that'll clean birdsh*t offen a Spider?" The counterguy's expression might be worth filming! :roflblack:

Yeah, BR1 with seven onboard computers has to be smarter than I am. "Park under a tree." What trees? Shade? What shade? Consol hot?...posibly, as when I put my hand on it I got a 3rd degree burn...ha ha

This is exactly what happened to me...

Definately sounds like heat issues. Glad we don't have that to deal with here. Currently mid 50's to low 60's.

In less than 60 days the snow will come and I will have to put :spyder2: away until March. I don't ride :spyder2: when there is snow on the roads--there are to many trucks and SUV's that go out of control. We call them ditch divers. I am not afraid of myself--but am very afraid of the cars I have no control over.

So that gives you lots of time to collect and mount Farkles;right? :2thumbs: Or are you busy flattening out the snow with your snowmobile??:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I usually buy gear during the off month's--but I believe I am all done farkling the Spyder. The seal floorboards were the last farkles I am going to invest in on the RTS.

I am still waiting for the bigger better RTS--so it compares with GW in engine size/quietness/whatever.

Believe it or not--I do not own a sno-mobile. I don't like the thought of getting stuck out in 40 below, nor do I like the fact that I cannot just go out and ride--even though I am rural.

You have to haul your sno-mobile to various areas to use them. Many people are killed each year by avalanches--and that is not my cup of tea.
