• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Key

If you're asking how far the chipped key can be from the ignition and still contact the D.E.S.S. system; it still pretty much has to be touching whatever dummy key you're using to turn the switch...

Gotcha! So it has a key just like the others? Can you take a pic of your setup? Are they different than the RS? Sorry just some before upgrade questions

The only difference between the 2014 key and previous years is the type of transponder chip used. It is my understanding the 2014 key uses a rolling code chip that is a lot harder to make a clone copy of. The range is the same maybe an inch if conditions are good.

That's the difference... the rolling code! :gaah:
Here's the explanation that I received...

I think they can be cloned with the proper cloner and cloneable chip;
I have neither.

The 2008 thru 2013 models have a TP04 chip that I can clone onto my
TP05 cloneable chips. Your 2014 model has a TP12 Crypto chip and
requires a newer type cloner and the proper cloneable chip.

Oh not at all. Was just wondering as my dad has a key he only had to keep in his pocket. Didn't know if it was the same!
