• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Key Ring Solution (Maybe)

...with no way to hook a name to each key! (Yet!)

Bouncin ideas off my head..:banghead:
Key Pouch 006.jpgThe concho is the snap, might be a little bulky for some,{with key and concho about 1 1/4" thick.. I've got some pearl-snaps around here, I'll try that. would be smaller in thickness.

The snap idea seemed to be the ticket for retreiving the key, and not a lot of bulk in the pocket. I've talked to my patch designer, she thinks she'll be able to embroider on the material. I was thinking on using the Spider:ani29:, but since everyone posts with the emo-cons on the right, I may have to try them as well.:roflblack:.

No arachnids for me... :opps: But I'm way more than interested in getting 2 of your fobs...:clap:

What is it you don't like, the idea of something stitched or Spider in your pocket:roflblack:. I'm looking for opinions here... all the fob's shown are made from marine grade vinyl. I found some real soft leather in the bottom of the crap box. I feel the leather would look better, but the vinyl would hold up longer..Anyone, Please feel free to voice an opinion on what would work best under the conditions your in.

Spider in your pocket:roflblack:. .

:yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes: Look up "Arachniphobia" in the dictionary; My picture will be there and I'll be sobbing like a little girl... :opps:
Soft leather sounds pretty cool! If you put a snap on them to hold things together, then all we'd need to do is send you a small fistful of cash to get them??? :dontknow:

I am surprised that noone has actually mass produced a key pouch/case solution for these things yet.

Working on that right now. Just need to make sure it's what the public wants. I'm not one to just settle for they try to sell me, I'm a :banghead: ole-cuss.

We're trying to make it to 2012 Spyderfest. I'll have some then, but would like to get some out there now. But being the seamstress I'm not. Kinda slow.. I'm taking the one I have now and heading to the PO. to find out how much shipping would be for the lower 48..Then I'll have an idea of what they're going to cost.

Doesn't make much sense!

It's always made me wonder why they make the key that way to begin with. I lost my key one time and when I ordered a replacement, they didn't even give me the holder it comes in like the original key had. Would be so simple for them to have a hole in the key so you could put the key on a ring to begin with. Guess that would make too much sense...HA!

I agree. That is why I drilled mine. I did not trust that sheath, and I was always having to dig so deep in the pockets to find that single key, but the FOB on mine has helped a lot.

Hole already THERE

There is a small hole already in the key. At the very top of where the rubber and plastic meet there is a small hole. This was on Spyderlovers some time ago. I took a small all and made pushed it through and then followed with a key ring. Works great.:yes:

I also did the same to mine.
Once I actually saw the chips that are used; there doesn't seem to be any possible way, for water to damage them... ;)

Nifty glad you found, never seen on mine will have to look, keyport is doing me better tho, fyi the chips are super fragile, careful

HOLE IN SPYDER KEY

In order to hook anything to our precious computerized keys you'll have to drill a hole in them... :yikes:
Lamont has shown us all where it's safe to drill through them... now it's a matter of gathering up the courage to do so...

I drilled a hole in my key right where Lamont said to. Been working fine for almost 4 years.
No problem.
CapNCrunch
: =)

There actually is a hole in them; it's covered-up by the outer sheathing fo the key. Once you find it, you can either run an icepick through it, or use a drill...
I used a drill... less chance of running it into my upper thigh! :yikes:
