• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Key Copying Instructions

BRP blanks have a chip that transmit a unique code for each key from the day they are made. The programming procedure on the Spyder tells it to accept the code that new key transmits.

I think billy has it wrong, but maybe I'm wrong. If the JMA is programmable by the Spyder it does not have to be cloned first. You should be getting the "master" message regardless of what kind of other key you are holding in your hand. If you aren't, then either the master key or the programming procedure has been changed for 2014.

In short put good key in, turn on, then off, press Mode, wait, remove key, put in master, wait for "master", remove, insert new key and turn on, wait for next key, turn off, push mode, remove, insert next key.

If that doesn't work then maybe the JMA key is not programmable by the Spyder.

The part number for ignition key has changed for all 2014 models. What does that mean? Has the chip changed and they are no longer using the Texas Instruments T5 chip? If they have changed the chip that would explain not getting the Master Key message because a different master key is needed.

Joe did not get that far, but I still stand by what I said about the clonable keys not working. It is my understanding that clonable key do not transmit a code until programmed to do so during the cloning process. The key programming procedure, for the Spyder, programs the DESS unit to accept the code that the new key is transmitting. Since Clonable keys do not transmit a code until they have gone through a cloning process. You will get a bad key message and that is exactly what Gray Ghost got when he tried it.

Just had a key made as I was down to one. We did not get "Master" displayed until we put the Kill Switch in the Run position. (2011RTL if it matters) I don't think the procedure addresses the Kill Switch position.

JMA key evidently is not programmable by the Spyder. I took one to my Dealer & all he could get out of it was that it was a "bad key". I
took the same key to a lock smith in Chattanooga today, & in a couple seconds had it starting the Spyder. 2013 RT S
