• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Key Cloning?

So, you have to be careful about people saying they can clone the key. I tried them, and it did not work on my 2012 RT-S.
Worked perfectly with my 2012 RT-S SM5. It is a standard T5 chip used for many vehicles. Does not apply to 2014's since BRP changed the process.

The 2014s use a TP-12 crypto-chip...
My keyblank is on it's way, and the chip; of course... is backordered! :gaah:

They will want to reprogram your Spyder and the keys so the the codes are entirely different then when you bought your Spyder.

The system does not actually reprogram your keys. The process erases all previously recognized key codes, then adds the key codes of the keys presented to it during the process to the recognition table of your security system. That is why you have to have all keys present when they add a key using the Master Key.

For example, I had keys cloned to each of my two originals. In playing around with the process, I failed to present one of the originals (A) to the system so it no longer would start the byke. Neither would it's clone. Not a problem, I simply went through the process again making sure both keys were in the system. Now key (A) also starts the byke and so does it's clone. If the system changed the codes when doing the master key process, that clone would not have worked.
