• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Kewlmetal risers

Just installed the risers and I love them. Have gained 4in. rise 2in. pullback and offset the grips back a little. I have the brp 1in. riser-no problems and the other great thing is I got back almost full view in my mirrors. Don't need the mirror extenders that I was considering.

Good choice!!!! :firstplace: We have them on the RS and because they are fully adjustable, it's made ALL the difference in our riding comfort.

I'm still waiting for mine to come in. Been over a week:( I wan't wait for a better riding position. My wrist will appreciate it;)

The road was rocky but, the ride feels great

I tried to put the riser on myself but had to call it a day. Turned the task over to my dealers. After paying stall fees at the auto hobby shop and labor at Fredericksburg Motor Sports. I'm a little lite in the pockets. After all I went through to get them on the Spyder. I must say that KM has a wonderful product. I'm happy with them and pain fee.

Very interesting.... we were told by our dealer that we couldn't do the BRP riser AND the KM risers.......

Wonder if that's what made the difference with your mirrors, cos we still needed the mirror extensions . . .

Hope you can post some pics.

I raised the KM riser to 4in. instead of the full 5in. to offset what the BRP riser did. You can see from the pics a lock to the left and a lock to the right, but the right is tight. Also the exact view I receive in the mirrors now. Hope this helps.

Looks like it gives you a great amount of adjustability. Let us know how it works out for you after you've logged some miles. Looks good!

Yes, thanks for posting the pics.

Funny thing, after looking at KM's installation pics, we noticed the clamps had been installed upside down :yikes: (but KM says is okay), but Vaughn decided to take them off and see if he could relieve some of the tension on the cables.... and wow! he did a great job . . . a custom fit! And while he was at it, he also installed a Vista Cruise throttle lock, spring for the frunk and SuperPro grips.....:2excited::yes:

Question for those that have gone the Kewl Metal risers route... Are we able to reuse the stock grips or must we replace with aftermarket?

I finally got the KW risers (with stock grips) onto Squirrel's '10 SM5. I used a tubing cutter to trip off the stock bars, then cleaned up the ends with a Dremel tool.

Preparing the stock bars and installing the new risers was the easy part. I know everyone's saying they had no problem with wiring and cable length.. but I sure did. Ended up having to take off a couple of pieces of body-work to rerout things.

Nice product.. looks like it'll work out fine. Only thing I may do is replace the throttle cables with longer ones.

You are right about it being a little difficult to get to the wiring ties to cut. They are buried deep and you have to take the top panels off and reach in their. One tip, I wedged a screwdriver in-between the zip tie and wiring and use an exacto knife to cut thru the ties.

We kept the stock grips; but changed out to some $15 gel grips from the local bike shop . . . great improvement.

Yesterday I had the distinct pleasure of riding the RS through our favorite canyon ride to the coast and back again! . . . (we usually swap so whoever had the RS on the trip over will take the RT on the way back so each of us can do the twisties on the RS)

Anyway, the adjustments Vaughn had made to the KewlMetal risers made all the difference in the world! :firstplace: The RS handled like a dream . . . and no right hand tingles or numbness . . .

Without a doubt it was the best experience I've ever had driving the Spyder

Kewlmetal Risers

I've had both the ESI risers and the KEWLMETAL Risers. The KEWLMETAL Risers are the best ever made. They adjust three ways up or down, back or foward and you can turn them in or out. KEWLMETAL beats ESI hands down, also the KEWMETAL look like they belong on the bike. You will be happy with KEWMETAL and I wound'nt buy from ESI.:lecturef_smilie:
