I installed the KewlMetal Mirror Extensions on my wife's 2008 SM5 the other day. They did successfully address the problems we were looking to have resolved after installing the NMN 4" handlebar risers. We were looking at our hands & not much else. Now we can see much more of what we need behind us.
Issues I have with the KewlMetal Mirror Extensions:
The finish on the product is a smooth/black finish, which does not match that of the OEM base mount and arm.
As you can also see, the lines of the extension do not flow with the lines of the mirror mount and arm. It's a solid block, which is placed at a totally different angle on the top and bottom and front & rear sides than the original base and arm. You can also see the excess bolt length sticking out the bottom...
The thickness of that block is also different than those of the base & arm. It seems to make no attempt to flow with the lines.
These are simply my thoughts. Did I install them wrong, or do I have it pegged about right?
Since they seem to be the only game in town & since they do function well, I'll live with the lack of form. I just wish the price delivered a more attractive product.
