• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Kenda tires

No Troop--the 1st shoprefused to do anything--the Kedra shows motorcycle tire & that was the end of their effort.. The 2nd shop that did the install put 30 psi in until I got home & lowered to 18 psi.
Darrrell

D., if that's in a Kenda it's waaaaay to low ..... use 28 psi in an OEM Kenda ..... 18psi is for Auto tires ONLY ..... Mike

Yeah, the fronts are easy, Mike....just unbolt, take to tyre place and bolt back on. However I, and many others are wary about tackling the tear......as a bit of a Klutz, there are too many chances of getting alignment, belt etc screwed up, along with having the right gear to get the axle undone at 155lb. If you have bad knees, changing the rear is a right royal pain in the arse (and the knees ) . :gaah:

Pete

My thoughts exactly. Sadly, I may end up staying with a Kenda on the rear for just these reasons :dontknow:

Interesting thread. Got 11K on my OEM rear balony skin Kenda which wore out the center fast. I had my Air Force aircraft mechanic daughter help me with the rear Kumho which was mounted by an independent power sports shop. Just changed out my front kendas at 18k to Toyo Proxes T 185/55-15 and I can't be happier. "click: to see the thread. I got them mounted at the car tire shop for $20 and they couldn't balance them because they didn't have a cone for the PP rims. I added 2.5 ounces of ceramic beads to each and they are smooth as glass now. Check the link in my signature for all the details.

Now, too many years running motocross during my miss spent youth killed my knees and Agent Orange has done a job on my muscle strength. I made some additions to a rolling mechanics stool which you may find helpful. Told in a story of images which I hope Peter deems appropriate.

No--the owner had no interest in anything I said, tire pressure didn't matter to him, the original tires had Motorcycle stamped on them , thus it needed a motorcycle tire in his mind. We had a word in Sales---NEXT :-)

When it comes time to replace my tires, I'll buy them online and mount them myself. I have a Harbor Freight tire machine and have changed many tires myself. I did it on all my motorcycle tires. I will use the beads to balance like I did with the motorcycle tires. My 2015 F3 S has Federal Formoza tires on the front and a Kumho on the rear. I have been running 18 in the front and 28 in the rear. After reading several tires threads on here, I'll be changing to 16-17 on the front and 18 on the rear. When I got it a month ago, the tires were at 14 and 20. I love how it handles with the tires on it, and all 3 tires have a lot of tread left on them. I'm getting used to how it handles in the curves(have to hear in MW AR, but doubt I'll ever run them as fast as I did with my Gold Wings.

I feel very fortunate that at 74 I can still crawl around enough on the cement driveway to remove the rear tire. I also have a local tire shop here in very rural Utah that not only will mount auto tires for me but will discuss tire options with me. And they have the tools necessary to balance my tires. They love the Spyder and have even ridden it to "test the tire balance". I didn't care and was glad they were interested. It is 100 miles for me to go to a dealer, and so far I am happy with what little I have had them do, but it is really nice to have a local solution for tires.
