There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Keeping stuff in RT saddlebags

Questions

New member
I'm having a problem with stuff falling out of my RT saddlebags when I open them up. Any suggestions on how to keep them in without buying the Spyder saddlebag "bag"? On one side I keep my rainsuit and chaps, and in the other one I keep rags. small Spyder cover and cleaning stuff.

Interesting, sounds like something is amiss here

I wonder if its not just the way you are stowing them, cause I store most of the same items you mentioned, but I keep them pretty tightly bound, usually by using bungy straps around them, so their kind of in like an oblong ball, and just stack the different items atop each other, and although they can get discomBOBulated (get it, Bob:roflblack: as in BobD.) inside the saddlebag, I usually don't have an issue with them falling to the ground upon opening. If anything, one or two items may fall into the open part of the saddlebag, but never had them fall to the ground, yet. Maybe you can try this method & see if it works for you:thumbup:

Walmart stuff sacks, they are waterproof to an extent and come in various sizes. They fold at the top and have a plastic clip closure.

I take a waterproof marker and indicate what is in each bag I.e cold gear, rain gear, chargers etc

See REI for some of these clear waterproof bags.

REI Had their own brand of these type bags. I have some but couldn't locate any on their website?
With the clear bags you could see the contents and not have to write on them.

I use the BRP soft bags - they work well. Old GW1500 soft bags work well too. Both have shoulder straps, should you want to haul them in, or strap them to your frunk rollie…

The stuff sacks are quick and cheap. I use them, but I alos use the soft inserts from my ST110. You might ask around and see if others would fit.
One above and I think somebody uses BMW inserts.
Good Luck

BMWs have the same type of clamshell bags. I do like the soft bag inserts, but I have also used stuff sacks, ziploc bags, a plastic grocery sack, a low-sided box, a knapsack, or a riveted-in divider. I usually keep certain items that are prone to wandering out in the front or rear trunk of the Spyder, though, leaving the saddlebags for luggage, helmet, etc.

You might look online for a good deal on a set of the luggage bags that come with the RT LTD models. They fit snugly and hold a fair amount?

Here's what I use on the doors, they are made from ball bungees with the balls removed.

Nice mod! BMW bags have these cross straps as standard, and they are handy. I wonder if they can be purchased separately from a BMW dealer and installed in the RT bags. I have an extra sett of bags in the garage, I think I'll take a look.
