• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Keeping My Baby Clean

Well it's that time of year again here in Central Florida. It's Lovebug time. I was just curious what everyone likes to use to keep their machines clean and shiny. I don't want to use anything that will take the blue out of my Orbital Blue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Be well one and all.

Water and car wash soap before anything else. You'll get a thousand favorites for polishes, but I like the Turtle wax Ice products. No white stains if you get them on the matte surfaces.

I tried the Turtle Wax Ice polish based upon Scotty's recommendation and found it really easy to apply. Just put it on a week ago so I can't comment on how long it lasts.

I've been using Armor All Ultra Shine Wash & Wax Detailer ( on recommendation in another thread here on sypder lovers).
does great on all surfaces including the windshield, black plastic trim, etc. It's really good at cutting thru the dead bugs and such.

Between washings we use the Original Bike Spirits, you can get the spray can at most motorcycle shops and now Advance Auto Parts carries it for $6.99 a can. This stuff works great on everything on the Spyder.

I use all Zaino products. Takes a while for the initial application, but the shine and protection is awesome.

Mothers California gold carnauba cleaner wax once a month...Lucas slick mist in-between. Former done in shade, latter done either in full sun or shade. Both safe for clearcoats. Wipe off with micro fiber cloth.

plain ole Hydrogen peroxide. The bug guts just bubble away.:yikes: I carry a small spray bottle full on my Goldwing. Spray it on wait a couple of min and wipe off.

I use The Original Honda Polish which I think is the same as Original Bike Spirit. They changed the name. Most of The Goldwing dealers used the same thing .

For love bugs the main thing is to get em off soon after they get on. I like that peroxide method. Looks like you can carry a bottle with you and spray them at any stop. You don't have to wait till you get home.

Chris PS: Love bug season is just about over here in Central, Flarda.
