• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

k&n air filter

I'm using a K&N 33-2006 with a cold air intake and custom exhaust. Every little bit helps but the exhaust made the biggest difference.

K&N does not make a specific air filter for the Sypder yet...spoke with the company a few weeks ago about this...

K&N makes it, they just don't know it! Even though they don't list a filter for the Spyder, in their cross reference guide, they list 33-2006 as a replacement for the A13192 used in the Spyder.

Any engine for that matter. I know several owners have had complaints about their airbox. If your interested in a K&N I would suggest buying one from a retailer that accepts returns, like HDXBONES did, and not use it if it doesn't look like it's going to seal. Mine fit great, the price was right, their well known, and you can tell the difference.

is anybody running a k&n type air
filter. if so did you feel any increase
in power.
i install the k&n filter with a few mods i file the cornors of the inlet filter
box to a nice fit, then added 2 alum flat bars to the side of filter, install filter grease and install filter, fits better then factory filter,:2thumbs:

Like I said, K&N doesn't make one specifically for the Spyder...they are aware that many want one (I've spoken to them a few times)...

You can use the one mentioned above, but it's not a proper fit...looks are deceiving!

I'm on their list to receive an email when they make one for the Spyder...until then, I'll stick with stock or go with the Evol one...

Like I said, K&N makes a filter they just don't know it. If you want to look at it as if the K&N wasn't made for the spyder, you're right in that the stock filter wasn't even made for the Spyder and the K&N is a replacement for it. The filter that is in the Spyder, Purolator A13192, was first introduced in 1981. BRP took this existing filter, which cross references to:
K&N 33-2006
AC 858C
Fram CA3559
Mopar 4227087
Motorcraft FA949
Napa 6120
Wix 46120
and made an airbox to fit the specification that all these filters share. Customer service representatives are deceiving, as I've found with other manufacturers when looking for items for the Spyder, like foot peg, grips and even light bulbs.

FYI, most of the information in the previous post was found on K&N's web site. I hope I didn't violate any copyrights!

It's interesting you say that because K&N states that don't make one for the Spyder and many who have tried have discovered it is not a tight fit...

Good luck with it though...I'll wait until K&N emails me with a perfect match...
