There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Just testing the waters

As the title says, I might be testing the waters to see what a good asking price might be for a super clean 2014 RT. I might be making a switch over from the RT to the F3T and if things work in that direction, I will be attempting to make a quick sale. Here is a little information on my bike.
2014 RT SM6 with 20,700 miles (and counting). Here are some of the extras that I added to make it more comfortable.
OEM fog lights, Hopnel Luggage, Web board floor boards, web board brake pedal, drive backrest, 3rd. brake light with turn singals, show chrome trailer hitch, driver cup holder, +4 width/-4 height/vented windshield, heel toe shifter, F3 front rims (new tires put on 3k miles ago), newer kumo rear tire, zippered dash storage bags (cannot remember the name brand), OEM windshield that will go with the sale, etc.
I am sure that I have forgotten something. I just had the latest service done 25 miles ago, so you are good for another 9k miles. Had all items checked out for the season. Warranty is good until 9/2018 and can be transfered.
If I should sell (as I am still testing the waters on the F3T), I can let it go as listed above, or brought back to stock (with the exception of the OEM fog lights which will always stay). What would be a good asking price for the bike as listed? I am thinking about $13,500-$14,000 for a quick sale.
What do you think, and am I being realistic. Just looking for a little feedback and a feel for how the market is.
PS, I would also let the OEM tires and rims go with the bike. Tires were actually still good at 17k miles.

It's not going to matter what any of us say. The real test is the offer a potential buyer gives you.
I understand what you are saying. I am just trying to get a realistic feel for what a used 2014 RT would sell for. KBB retail is $17,075 (I know this is unrealistic), and trade in value is $12,975. I would think that a price very close to trade in value for a bike with my extras, and 18 months warranty would be reasonable. Just wanted to know what others think. I would rather pass a good deal on to someone who wants a spyder than to trade in the bike (if possible).

I believe, from watching the markets, that your price may be low but that will not be the stopping point on this sale.

Your challenge, IMO, is going to be finding the used buyer that will take the SM6 option. So, IMO, I would leave your price at the lower point, find an interested party, then negotiate what options you will remove or charge extra for.

I could be totally wrong.

That same thought is in my head also.

Now here is where the problem lies.

I can retire and it feels pretty good to have that feeling that I can go when I want.

Now if I buy a new F3T I will have to work longer to pay for it. Not sure if I want to loose that freedom

But boy I sure would like a new F3T:dontknow:

This is just my opinion, so feel free to ignore. I worked in a small country Hospital for over 34 years. Had over a dozen work-mates in that time that either never made it to retirement or died with in a very few months after retiring. I had cancer in 2010, beat it and retired as soon as I could (62) 4 years ago. If I had to pick between working longer and getting a new FT3, or keeping the RT and retiring- I'd pick retirement! That feeling of being free to go when you want, is a great feeling.

IMO--your current ad price is in the ballpark. A couple hundred looks and no bites means to high.

A tough site to sell a :ani29: on.

Thanks for the input guys. I just posted here for sale, and also on craigslist. Already got a very interested party on the craigslist add. Seems serious, but we all know how that can be. If this goes through, I will be making the move. I am giving myself a 2 week window and then I will evaluate if I will lower the price, or just pull the add and hold onto what I have.

Hi Jheck,

Re: retired as soon as I could (62)

I did the same thing, but back in early '03 ( I'm 76 ).

I do have the money to buy a new Spyder & not make any payments. I have chosen to live on what I get in retirement & ride an older model. It is a trade-off that I have made & do not regret it.

When I was young I learned a lesson: No matter how much money I would put into my car(s), there was always someone who was faster. I'll never be a lot of things, but I'm very satisfied with life; and my 'old' Spyder.

:D I need to learn this lesson, before I get too serious about retirement...
Bravo!! :clap::bowdown:
