• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just ordered....

congrats on your purchase, your going to have a ball on it. Hope you can meet up with us sometime for a ride.

Welcome to the SpyderHood

We had a small break in our cold weather and I was able to pick up the Spyder last night. First impressions are good, but I feel I might eventually want handlebar risers (or helibars) and that some of the shifts seemed to have more of a clunk to them than I would have thought.

Risers were the first thing i put on my 08 GS, Went with 3 inch, But in retrospect shoulda gone [for me] with 4 inch.

Congrats on the new SE5. My Wife Kathy loves her pearl white RSS. She REALLY loves that tranny. I gotta say it's a very good unit - it has its little eccentricities but it never misses and it shifts like an F1 car. Pay attention to that clunking, though - it could just be "new", or it could be something else. Kathy's will give a pretty good clunk when going from neutral to first, especially when it's cold - but that's about it. Other than that it has shifted like butter from day one, so stay on top of it. We had to have the clutch changed on ours, but it's been great ever since. I still like the manual tranny better myself - but that's because I'm stubborn and old school!

We went with 2" risers on the RSS - they make a big difference in over-all comfort. No risers on 14, though - she's a different kind of animal!
