Just ordered the Toyo Car Tire

I'm not sure what I have left on my Kumho tire and I have a 3000+ trip ahead of me and I really like the looks of Ron's tire. It looks like it may last longer and for sure it will shed the water better (not that the Kumho is bad at that). It's about twice the money of the Kumho but it's still cheaper than a stock tire. :doorag:

Hey! That's a great looking tire Lamont! Where did you find that?

It looks a lot like MY tire! You haven't mounted it have you?

I'm going to have NMN talk to the UPS driver again. I liked it better when all your stuff was getting delivered to my house....

Hey Evan! How about a little help here!

I imagine that Tire Rack.com would have this tire. That is the source I used when I was searching for the tires that I put on the rear of my dual-sport Yamaha trike conversions.

Since those trikes are homebuilts I needed to look through a lot of tire choices. Tire Rack.com had the most tires to choose from of any place I saw on the internet (I finally chose a Firestone snow tire for those Yamaha trike's 14" rear rims).

Has anyone replaced the front tires with something other than stock...who now has a quieter ride because of that? I have had a persistent hum at about 40-45 mph, and I'm guessing it's the tires. Would like to see if anything might eliminate that; I've already tried different pressures.

If you have the right exhaust your tires could be singing in the choir and you'd never notice! :roflblack::ohyea:

Lamonster....that's got better looks. Is the air pressure an experimental thing with this, or do you run the low pressure? I take it you're going to change it yourself and use Ride-On for balancing?

Called around for Ride-On..nobody sells it here in Alabama. Got a number from manufacturer...still an issue though.

Looks good man. :congrats:

Call the company main 800 number and ask for George...he will help you...the stuff is back-ordered right now...

What was the price?

Price varies depending on where you get it. Tire Rack (a great place to do business) does not carry Toyo tire. (What's up with that?).

So we went elsewhere. The best price I could find was $106. Shipping was about $18 to us. That may vary depending on location.

The tread on this thing is incredible. You don't see this much tread on a car tire very often.

It's more expensive than the Kenda Lamont and others are running now but if we can get a few more miles than the 13000 or so we're getting now it may be worth the additional expense.

The reason I chose this Toyo is that from everything I've read the wet traction and resistance to hydroplaining is better than any other tire that will fit our Spyder (except that I could not find any data on the OEM Spyder tire)

What pressures are you running?

What pressures are you running?

I don't have it mounted yet but I will probably start at around 30 psi. There are others here already running this tire. I am not sure what pressures they are running.

Personally, I do not think it is extremely critical as the tire is designed to carry much greater loads than the Spyder will ever exert. So tread patch should be good at a wide range of tire pressures.

This is not the case with the much lighter and less ridged tread area of the OEM tire. It is not only pressure sensitive but also distorts in the middle with high rpm.

Does anyone know what steven888 is running for his front rims and tires? I'm assuming they are aftermarket rims since the tires are wider than our stock tires.

That's because Lamont mounted it on his:roflblack:

Not till tomorrow. I'm sure Ron's really new Toyo will be here soon.
:Dnojoke

Looks like I won't have to worry about what pressure to run, or anything else on my great looking, new Toyo tire.... :helpsmilie:

I notice NMN has not posted on this thread. Thanks Evan....!

I knew I was in trouble as soon as you said you liked my tire. :gaah:

Thanks a lot UPS.... No wonder your motto is - 'We Spell OOPS with a 'U' "
