• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just ordered my Spyder

Seems to be quite a wide variety in insurance prices... I have Geiko for car insurance so I figured they would be cheaper. We shall see what Rider comes in at. I may go to a local agent and see what they can do as well.

Im really looking forward to being part of the Spyder community!

welcome:congrats::b2b:
I went through state farm and it cost me $44 a month so i guess that works out to $528 a year. Hope that helps good luck:thumbup:

Thanks for all the tips guys.... I did get a quote from Rider today... Quality Plus Pkg... $682.00 per year. I did some other quotes - if you drop comp and collision and just do the liability it goes down to $250 a year. Its weird as living in NJ the bike with get seasonal use, garage stored etc. I just don't understand why my car insurance is cheaper.

My dealer spoke to the factory today - My Red SM5 is going to be a 2009 Model - They are starting 2009 production in October. Mine is slated for early November delivery. 2008 Reds are sold out. I am happy with the 09 change and if early November is met that would good. At this point I'm just practicing patience.

Who do you use for insurance?

:congrats:

Progressive. $388/yr in CT.

Geico wanted $1200, the agent at Geico told me they didn't know how to rate the Spyder, at that time (04/09), so the default is high risk.

The Progressive rep told me they can beat most competitive rates because Progressive insures the most motorcycles. That said, some states prevent Progressive from offering rates - I forgot the reason though.
