• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just Installed a Very Nice Top Case!

For those with a BRP sport/back rest, this is from lonlawrence's gallery and basically what I did:

The only change I made to the rack that he made for me was that I didn't use the long bar that attached under the seat. I used a 1/4x20 with rubber snubber/well nut, which rests on the adjustment bar for the back rest. I also have the GIVI E250 universal mount, not the SR770.

When I first bought the spyder a few years back, my first mod was the BRP sport rack/back rest. Then I decided I needed more storage area and since I already had the BRP back rest I decided to go behind the back rest. Someone on here made a mounting plate that bolted to the back side of the back rest. The mounting plate is held parallel by way of a 1/4x20 bolt with a rubber snubber attached. To that plate I mounted the GIVI E250 universal mount and the GIVI V46 to it.

I wasn't trying to jack this thread. I was just trying to point out to the "someone" that has mentioned here and previously about not being able to mount a GIVI topcase when you have the BRP back rest.

And, I actually have you to thank for switching from a soft sided bag to the GIVI. But, I thought you had the V46 and found out later that you had a slightly bigger topcase.

yeah, it's not too much bigger...just a bit...I gotcha...I couldn't figure out the reasoning but know I understand it's because you already have the backrest...and those aren't cheap, so why not use it? So, you're getting more room and still extra space back there...good move!

I would love to see the Pics, thanks.

oh, look above in the thread...on the front side of the givi bag, there is an attachment (drilled in) of a black foam pad that is there should someone be sitting there and they want to lean against something...it's functional and well-constructed...no water gets in...

Same goes for the rear light that is used as a brake light...this is a really nice add-on to the bag...more visibility is always better!

I have been looking for a large top case for my 2008 Spyder, and found one at Twistedthrottle.com. They are the only US distributor for the new
"Coo Case". This is an awesome case! They have several colors to match your bike, (mine is full moon silver) and the S48 Luxury edition case will fit (2) full face helmets (Yes it does) and comes with a soft foam liner, remote lock/unlock, brake and tailights and an alarm! The cost for the case was $299.00 + I had to purchase an adapter plate and topcase rack for Givi. Total Spent was $448.49! This was an awesome price compard to others, and I think it looks great!

If interested for your bike, you will need to order the following part numbers: (No, I don't work for Twisted Throttle) Just want to help feloow Spyder Riders.

(1) # Givi SR770.M5 Top Case Rack Monokey for Can Am Spyder

(1) # CC.S48.L.1647 Coo Case S48 Topcase Luxury Edition

(1) #TT-00011 CooCase Wiring Kit (Free)

(1) #GPT.00.152.153_TWT Coocase to Luggage rack adapter kit to fit Givi FZ and SR series top racks.

This looks like what I am looking for. Let me ask a question that is probably already answered; Did you start with a rear sport rack? I have one installed and am hoping that your BOM is for this starting point.

Good job in any case. Wait! That is a pun.
