Just had Cataract Surgery.

So yesterday, Monday... I had my right eye done (doing the left one in 4 weeks). Like everyone told me, I didn't feel anything. It took about 15 minutes, and the difference is AMAZING! I can actually see & read the Spyder dashboard now. :clap: :clap: :yes: :yes: . I didn't get the corrected lenses just the regular ones. The doc said my eyes didn't need a large correction to be perfect; plus, since I have Cancer, it didn't make sense to spend about $2700.00 on them. ..... Mike :thumbup:

I had mine done in my early '50's.
The fun part of having them done is that for the first year, when looking at lights in the dark, there is a starburst look around the edges of the lens; and in mixed company, when the women ask how it went, you can tell them you've now got x-ray vision! Look right at them and then say, "Yep! Your Bra and panties don't match!" LOL

The looks they would give me... horrified! Of course they don't match - they're married, and it doesn't matter anymore! :joke:

I had the surgery Mon. and Tues. (today) I rode 70+ miles ...... no issues ......Mike :thumbup:

Only a doctor can verify that you have cataracts... my over-all vision had deteriorated. Mike :thumbup:

Congrats, Mike! It does make a difference! I had mine done several years ago. The deterioration was so slow that I didn't really notice it until I realized that I was squinting a lot, especially at night and in the rain. After the procedure, voila! And you're right, no pain or discomfort. I couldn't wait to get the second one done! Enjoy your new view during your rides!

Congrats Mike. I totally relate to your experience. Had mine done 4 years ago. I was to the point of not being able to drive/ride at night. Oncoming headlights would blind me. Before the surgery I had cheater-reading glasses all around the house. After the surgery I sat down at my computer, put my glasses on as usual and turned the computer on. Everything was blurry. Big disappointment! Then took the drug-store glasses off and suddenly everything was crystal clear. Good luck with the second eye.... Jim

Congrats. It is definitely an improvement. Had mine done a couple years ago. My eyesight switched on me. Could read my cell phone and not see far away. I thought something was wrong. I went to pass a car and couldn't see down the road. Went to the Drs within 3 days. Confirmed I had cataracts. Surgery was painless and glad I did it.

I know what you mean, I had my right eye done on tuesday, September 3rd. I get the left one done on the 17th. It's nice not having to wear glasses all the time. I only need cheaters for reading and I can live with that.
