• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just had a Service, but Total Hours still Stuck!? Ideas?

Just had it serviced and told the service manager but nothing changed....my hours have been stuck on 1070.9 for over a year

I wish my time in college could have stood still

Interesting....

Which hours...?? trip hours or total engine operation hours..?? The trip hours you can reset, the total hours of operation has to be done with BUDS and I don't know for sure about it. I don't do dealer service so when they check my system, they have told me that they cannot reset the hours since the last service, but I don't think that is the same as the total hours. That one is like the total mileage....:dontknow:

Well....

total engine hours.
Wonder if there is a max on the system and you reached it...:roflblack: you need to find someone with BUDS and see if they can do something about it. Would be strange if only that feature failed. Maybe the sensor has gone out if it has one...:dontknow: The one guy that checked my system only said that because they did not do the service they could not reset the clock since the last service. Something that shows up when checking the system with BUDS.

The dealer did hook it up to BUDS but nothing happened......oh well, keeps the hours down

Hours Stuck

Dealer did some work this past April on my 2012 RSS-SE5. On return home noticed that my total hours is also stuck on 1070.9. Trip hours is stuck on 0 and neither will reset!!

Wow..!!

Now I'm starting to wonder...you two are nowhere near each other so it looks like a BUDS system glitch of some sort...I would check with another dealer and see if this is everywhere..:yikes: do either of you remember what was on the clock when you went in..?? I have 891 on the clock and 38,373 on the mileage but as I said no one messes with my system....

You may be on to something here. I looked to see what year/model etc. and could not find it.

The 08's were said to have a 62,000 KM "turnover" point. Whatever hours that would be--may have been affected.

At this point I have to watch the outcome.

I have the mileage recorded but no hours- no idea.

The 08's and 09's had hour meters that you could get to through getting into the set-up mode--which I dreaded. I do not recall the hour meters on 10 or above. They will correct me if I am wrong.:bowdown:

Engine Hours

My 2015 F3-S has both a trip hour meter and the total engine hours. I believe that 'basic' display/cluster was used on the base RS/ST and is still used on the F3/F3S.

Pogo says elsewhere: You will find it difficult to get many more hours up. The counter freezes at (from memory) 1070.9 hours. It is a 16 bit counter counting minutes of operation. When it reaches 65535 (the maximum count for a 16 bit counter) it freezes.

Thanks Pogo.
