just got the bike back

well got the bike back, they said when the bike was put back together a pin was not installed right and that caused all the problems with the hand brake and parking brake, i have no clue what pin he is talking about but the brakes work fine now. as for the recall, the brake line that some people said was wrapped in their heat fix, was not part of the recall and mine was not wrapped. on the way home i remembered about the trailer mode and i switched it over to it. i like the downshifting it does now, i like the fact that it downshifts b4 i am almost at a stop at the last minute. but if i am not winding the bike out it will not allow me to up shift b4 i hit higher rpm's. i guess that is part of the way it works.

ok now for the heat, the temp here is 54 degrees and the bike temp gauge in running at 1/2 cruising and when i slow down or stop it goes right to 3/4 and the fan comes on. i also for the first time feel the seat really hot. might be because the temp in down outside and i feel it more but today it felt like i had a heated seat like on my wing. other than that it rides like my spyder.

tomorrow i am going to go to the dealer with a bad rap sheet that i have been staying away from and i am going to see if he will take it in on a trade in, the other day i read on one of the posts that someone traded their 13 in and got 19.5k, if he offers me anywhere near that i will make the deal. ok that's my day

I was the one who got offered the $19500 for my 13 but would not take that offer! Can see them giving me $19500 on paper and then reselling it for $26000, no way! Even with the heat problems it's worth more to me than that and with the 5 year warranty I can bitch a lot in 5 years.

i am willing to let it go for 19.5k and i will take the loss on it. i felt the heat today and it is cool out there and with the foot problem i have i am willing to off the bike for that kind of money rather than risk a burn and have a foot that doesn't heal. i just made a appointment for next tuesday for a vascular doctor to see why my feet are going so bad on me. that is the main reason i stopped riding 2 wheels and went to 3

the dealer i am going to really has a bad rap, i never went to him after i bought my wing and he lost the dealership and i think he did some time. so for the last couple of years they are under " new ownership" and did a name change, so if i could get the right deal and trade the bike in i will do it. than i would need to find another dealership for service. so who knows what will happen.

legs and feet bob and my feet are very sensitive on the tops of them. my doctor wants a complete work up on it, i am on a water pill and last night i took a extra one and was up all night peeing my brains out, so todat the legs are down but my left foot is swollen bad

There's some sort of new drupg out there that is supposed to lessen the symptions of it; I figure that my head is already dumb-enough :shocked:, so I ain't touching it!

John, good luck on trade. Hope you get the deal & the bike you want. As for me I will be keeping my bike for at least couple more years.

My wife had that happen to her ankles and feet..It was diagnosed as Vasculitis....They gave her steroids and that pretty well took care of it..She has an appointment with a rheumatologist next month..Good luck with your feet! and Spyder!...

I know on paper it's not suppose to, but whose to say the 14 won't have the same heat problems. It just worries me to see people jumping and taking such a big loss to something that's not been road tested and reported on yet. I hope it works out for the best

i agree with you but i also like the larger motor and the 6th gear for better mileage, i also like the front end look. now any bike can have problems just like cars but i think after the disaster with the 13's they went above and beyond to get the 14 right. i love the concept of the 2 wheels for a lot of reasons and people i ride with hate it when i lag behind sometimes but they don't have the problems i have health wise and i always end up catching up to them. so we will see what happens with this dealer i am going to tomorrow if i feel ok.
