• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well traded in the old Ural sidecar and got me one of these! Just started getting the bling for this one. Has anyone bought the tips LEDs and the daytime running LEDs that go on the front suspension? How do they connect together to work? I am not yet ready to put them on as I have updated the mags as well along with a sway bar and don't want to install until everything arrives. BTW the bike is scary fast!

welcome and :congrats: saw you stopped by the chat, you should have spoken up. I have the Triple Play and the Mudflaps and the Tipz and the Center light, I love them all. I plan on either the fogs or day running light or both in the future. Depends on the new job, if I get it or not.

Compared to a Ural? Yeah it is fast!!!

I really wanted a Ural several years back. The age of the design and tooling was the lure for me.

Welcome to the Spyder. You're going to fall very deeply in love with it! welcome

Yes Dan your right, but each is different in their own right. i loved the Ural have owned three in my lifetime, just can't have that many bikes, well I can, just can't afford to run them all especially insurance. The Spyder is/was somethingI always wanted ever since I saw them, when I drove across canada Last year saw lots in Quebec and the urge never left...once all my mods are done. I will be good. Like the fact it has reverse and is ok to go in my trailer to tow behind the old RV.

I installed both. The connections are made on the inboard side of the upper control arm for both the fender tips harness ( 1 plug at each end) and the day runner harness (2 plugs at one end).

I can't speak for anyone else's spyder; but, on mine there was no slack at the stock plug connection on the left hand side (as viewed from the seat); the right hand side was slightly better with a little slack. I had problems disconnecting and connecting the harnesses; I had the front panels and wheels removed, which helped very little in my case. In the end it was worth it. My mud flap lights also operate as turn signals now.

By the way, if you want LED's for the front fender lights, you'll have to purchase from Custom Dynamics. Whether you purchase the fender tips package from ESI or Custom Dynamics, the wire harness is the same.

I must have just missed you, mofa. I was into GVPS in Surrey the other day and spotted a Ural sidecar outfit being washed by the lot kid. I was drooling over it but he said it had been sold to a Ural dealer already. I'd love to own one but I wouldn't give up my Spyder. Maybe we can get together for some ryding.

Blue and Silver yup that was mine, the Ural dealer stole it (he took it as part of my deal - dealer purchase) but all in all I am happy the GVPS people seem nice and Honest to deal with.

I got the tips. It was difficult only because of the small work space it is hard to get into the bottom area and there is little slack, and the wiring is odd, the colors seem to be different on each side in the console area. I then got the amber LED lights to put in the tips. I got those from superbrightleds.com.

I got the mudflap lights too, which operate as turn signals now. I thought they were easier to install.

Thanks for the welcome guys, my next major change is the rear fender, fugly!.....the licience plate needs to be reworked as well.

Can anyone who has the two brothers twin exhaust chime in please, I ahve ordered one with the quiet (just a term) tips. Not too noisy is it?

Mofa- You aren't kidding this thing is fast! It WANTS to go fast! I, like you, am a former Ural owner- and compared to that ride it's a bullet!!:yikes: And so wonderfully stable- I have almost forgotten how to 'hang a cheek over' ;)

I, also like you, love them both for different reasons. I wish I could afford to have all the toys all the time, but alas, my financial karma has other plans. I will probably re-aquire another Ural at some point, cuz I miss the off road riding capabilities. A friend of mine just purchase their own Ural hack, and boy, does that make the lust factor kick in, seeing that rig every weekend!!

Welcome to your new obsession! Enjoy!
