• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just got my F3 home!

Not much choice at this point

At this point I don't have much choice other than the Blue Ridge, but I literally just got back in from a ride with my full face helmet and I think I might go without one for a month or so until I can see what the Aftermarket guys are going to do. If still nothing around by than I might have to get the Blue Ridge one, but I received a message from a fellow from the forums here letting me know he was able to make Gold Wing windshield mount to his RS and thinks this might be an option here as well. Friend of mine has a windshield off an older GW and I'm going to take a look at it and see if it's something I can do (I am not very mechanically inclined, so I have my doubts) but I have to look at all options right now.

I am watching the forums very closely for aftermarket products right now, and hoping product comes to market soon!

Oragnie

:agree: Looks like the Can Am Red is starting to catch on.....

I wish it were the red from my 2012 RTS, that was a nice shade of red. This one feels more orange to me (still a very nice color)... for now. It will be going for custom paint and WILL be very Red when I'm done!

May I offer my twopence worth? I have ridden the vast majority of my bikes with no screen and it really is an acquired taste!
I rode up to Scotland (380 miles) for a club meet on my Triumph Street Triple about six years ago and I was travelling
at slightly (moot point!) above the 70 mph speed limit all of the way..... below 100 mph anyway!

So folks coming from naked bikes to a Spyder will not be too fazed by the wind, rain, bugs, birds etc. As far as
I'm concerned it goes with the territory and as long as you wear a full face lid and are generally ATGATT it's fine.
However those coming to Spyders from the shelter of cars are in for something of a wake-up call! :yikes:
My last bike was a BMW R1150R a naked Beemer with a small screen with an adjustable lip (An MRA from Germany)

I fitted a screen from the same company to my RS-S .

A large screen acts as a sail and can cause handling problems. Not so much on a Spyder but, nevertheless, you can feel the difference.
On the new F3-S I've opted for the Blue Ridge screen and if it proves inadequate I shall fit an adjustable 'lip' to it.
Customizing bikes is about personal taste and what works very well for one person, another will hate!

RE: blown off the beast

What a HUGE difference from my '12 RT-S, damn near got blown right off this beast. Windshield is no longer an 'optional' item, I'm in my 40's and I can't remember the last time I had an Ab workout like that. Didn't notice it too much in the City but once I got on the highway heading home, wow! Wind gets under my 3/4 helmet and tries to rip your head off, didnt help that is was 55'f either (and avoiding the snow / ice / puddles on the roads up here in Northern Alberta).

I average about 15,000km / year, and there is no way that is going to happen without a windshield (which I'll be picking up on Monday). Then the waiting game begins to see where the aftermarket guys go with saddlebags. It's a loss of creature comforts from RT-S, but I have NO regrets at all!

Which windshield are you getting? The reason I ask is that I traded 2014 RT IN for F3. I have blue ridge windshield, it is way better than bare bike, but still very significant wind at head and shoulders. IMHO, needs about 3-4" taller windshield
