• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just for fun.....

:agree: with Batmobil. Biiig place, this World of ours, even if the internet & modern transport makes it seem small! It's late Monday Arvo here in South Aust, 18:55 ish, and it's been a pretty nice Spring day for riding! :ohyea:

Peter, I see you have a 2013 RT, and I recognize you are one of the Spyder gurus on this forum. I'm reading that the 1330, 3 cylinder produced in 2014 is the machine with performance, so I wonder a bit the reason you ride the twin. If this is too much of a hijack, you can PM.

Thanks for the kind words, bikerbillone, altho I don't really know about the 'guru' bit, but do I try to share whatever I might know &/or have learnt, and if any of it helps others, so much the better!

As for the 1330 being 'the machine with performance', that might be the case if you're talking 'standard' V-Twins vs Triples, but for what it's worth, in my opinion (& my better half's opinion) the Triple motor, for all its torque, especially that low down torque, is a lazy motor that's nowhere near as exciting a motor as the V-Twin can be, even if you do rev it right out & stir it along! Besides, my V-Twin Spyder isn't 'standard' anymore, not by a real looooong shot! :ohyea: It's had a 'Magic Wand' waved over it by one of the best in the game, (Jason at ECU Xtreme on the Gold Coast, Aust - [email protected] ) and it's no longer just a more exciting and responsive Spyder to ryde than ANY Triple Spyder I've met, even most modified Triples, it's an absobloodylutely freakin FANTASTIC Spyder to ryde! :trike: And it's just a bit lighter to start out with too, so not only do I now get a better cruising range than most other V-Twins & many Triples, the lighter weight makes for crisper handling, better braking, and even more get up & see all you ryders on your lazy Triples when you eventually get there!! :ohyea:

But then, I am a bit biased, and so far, despite racking up a fair few miles on various newer RT's & F3's, the 1330 motors just haven't been 'better enough' to prompt me & the Missus to make the change.... altho maybe once we can get some proper saddle time on a 2020, plus if the bugs are properly ironed out of that dodgy BRP Connect/new Digital Dash, & we have a serious talk to Jase about what he can do for us on one of them... ;) Who knows, I guess only time will tell! :2thumbs:

However, getting back to the real topic of this thread - Motorcycle Dave, have you got a local winner yet, or is it just us o/seas & off-topic posters keeping the place awake? Too early yet maybe? :dontknow:
