• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just cruising around

Just curious. If you are just cruising around town at 30 to 40 mph on your RS,GS, or ST, what gear are you in and what is your rpm?

30 to 40 mph would be second gear. You want to keep the rpm's in the 5000 range.

The Rotax likes the high rpms. Usually I don't use 5th gear until I am driving at speeds of 60 or higher.

If I'm in the city surounded by tall buildings and people walking about, the Spyder stays in 1ST gear at 30-35mph. That way, my loud pipe echos off the buildings occupying the eardrums of pedestrians. :joke: :roflblack:

Depends..!

Sm5/6 or Se5/6...the manuals can vary more because the clutch is fully engaged at release but the semi auto needs to be up there to keep from wearing the clutch out prematurely. Good idea to keep all of them around 5,000 rpm's and get out of town it's way more fun on an open road...:roflblack:
