• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just bought a new 2011, Spyder. Am I excited you bet. Traded in my 2006 gw. Hope I don't miss the power. Bought the matching trailer to. The dealer also gave me a spare for the trailer and the mount for the zumo 660. They are also wiring it in. Now all I have to do is get the 660. Can you buy the 660 with out all the mounts that come in the box? Not sure I need all that junk. Will the 550 hook up to the brp mount?
Will pick it up next week, then ride the hell out of it.

Bob

Welcome! Where in northern MI are you located? Do you work at a powerplant in the UP of MI by Marquette?

Reason for question: My son and I passed the Presque Isle powerplant and noticed a blue RTS (same as mine) parked in a lot by the ore/coal dock.

Actually I live in the northern lower, about 50 miles south of the big Mac.

:welcome::congrats: The comfort and luxury of the RT should make up for the difference in power. Rnjoy and have fun!

Will the 550 hook up to the brp mount?

Congratulations! :ohyea: Good colour, too, I would add.

The Zumo 550 cradle will mount on the BRP adapter fitted between the bars but I'm not sure that the BRP connecting cable is compatible. Probably not would be my guess, having read through some of the probs described elsewhere on this forum.

The Zumo 550 will not fit on the BRP Zumo mount.

The Garmin 550, 660 and the BRP mount use the standard AMPS hole pattern. The motorcycle mounting cradles for both Garmin units use the AMPS standard, therefore the BRP cast metal mount can accomodate both Garmin units. The following vid explains AMPS:

buy the 665 and get XM radio

If you buy the 665 Zumo GPS and get XM radio the sound coming into the BRP hookup is not stereo. They made sure that you did not get the stereo sound, even using it to play MP3 audio. BRP want you to buy and install their xm radio. I have the 665 unit so I know. If no stereo is not a problem, it works just fine. Just a thought .The sound from the Garmin does come through the head sets along with CB radio. Bob
