Left my bride home for this run, and yes, I was only there long enough to say "HI" to a few folks, pick up my "T" shirt then head back North. The weather was terrific for the whole trip (little over 1,000 miles in 3 days), and the Spyders ran like Swiss watches, averaging 31 mpg over the whole trip, which was heavy with high speed and LOTS of twisties.
Had dinner with Cat & Vaughn and Bill in Grants Pass, OR, and they led Jim and I through a semi-paved goat path, that would only be found by a curious native, but was a highlight of the trip! When they went to meet with some folks from North Bend in Crescent City, Jim and I headed off to Trinidad for lunch, then on to Eureka.
We left the next morning for a 10 hour 400++ mile trip up the Oregon coast home.
Katlyn and the Cal group picked a super location for their event, and I hope all goes well for them (ends today I think). Looked like about 100 Spyders there & lots of nice folks.
Interesting side notes, Jim & I met one rider, age 29, but it looked like the vast majority were 60+ (Jim & I qualify) - we counted 3 SMs, and Jim had the only handbrake (that we found). None of the East coast folks had arrived, so Jim's Idaho plate was the farthest afield.
I'll post a few pics later today, after I have more coffee.
