• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just asking a question here, so don't go reading anything into it - is a mobile app in the works?

In the sticky header, the webmaster says things are coming soon. The statement is undated so I'm not sure when things might happen.

E.g. "There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality." Is a mobile app in the works?

No, I don't believe that there is a 'mobile app' in the works, but rather that comment means that the Forum is now able to be accessed and used pretty much in it's entire (current) capability on your smartphone - in fact, I do just that often, usually at least a few times a day, but I've been operating on my mobile phone almost exclusively for the last few weeks because I've been on the road. ;)

And as I said in the other thread, just because you've made a suggestion (or because @AnthonyG has said there's changes coming) it doesn't mean they're going to be actioned/happen immediately, or even in the short term... There's a LOT of competing priorities, and the reality is that this 'new platform' works pretty well as it is, so unless it's a critical issue, it'll probably end up somewhere in the 'To Do' list, but not likely on the top... :sneaky:
