• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just about all packed and getting excited......

We are leaving tomorrow about noon for our trip to Valcourt. I am so excited. I am just about all packed and I got most everything in my two saddlebags from Cortech. Getting through work tonight is going to be so tough. I have a few last minute things to do, get some tape for my video recorder. I don't know how much video I'll actually take but it will be cool to get a shot of all the Spyders riding together and also all the custom stuff. I will try to post stuff after I get back. We have another spyder owner riding with us. He bought his spyder from the same dealer as we did and the owner put him in touch with me. He has never been on a long ride like this either so we are three novices riding together. We will be stopping a lot I'm sure. I looked up the list from an earlier thread and started checking off things as I packed them. I am sure I will think of something after we've already left, I always do. I also called Chase Bank. Since I am a customer, I can get Canadian Funds at their Port Huron branch with no fees or service charges. That is even better than and ATM across the border. I'll use a credit card at the hotels but for food and gas, I will try to have Canadian cash. Also, have to check the owners manual make sure I know how to set the speedometer to Kilometers so it is easy to follow the speed limits. Since we are making this a two day trip each way, I figure we can ride leisurely if we like. I can't wait to meet everyone. See you all in Valcourt. If anyone wants to get hold of us during any part of the trip, you can call or leave a message on my cell phone. 1-810-625-8081, ask for Deb or Brian. Ride safe everyone and I will keep you all in my prayers.

I'm just about ready too. I made a new mount for the video and plan on posting that here when I get back to the hotel. I don't have a ATM card so I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that yet. :dontknow:

I just want to wish everybody a safe ride to Valcourt.

This website is really alot of great people, and I wouldn't want any of them to get hurt. By next year, I'm sure the SE5 will be mine and hope they have another homecoming.

God bless everyone! But just a few funny comments.....
1. How many of you think you'll not stop for gas/food and be delayed an extra 30+ minutes for questions? Did you plan that into your trip log? :joke:
2. Lamonster, with all the gear on your roadster, are you sure that you can go over some of those bridges (you know... with weight restrictions?) ;D
3. Dtang, I like to think of you as "gadget girl". I hear that they are giving away a GPS/I-Pod/Cell-phone/intercom/sat radio gift to the one with the most gadgets... Oh sorry, you've got all that don't you, if you win will you give it to me? :joke:

Have a great time!

No a valid drivers license and official birth certificate are still all that is required. We are taking our passports though, I think it will be easier and go more smoothly.

That was funny.

You know, you are not the first person to refer to me and my gadgets. Some of my friends like to pick on me about that too. What's really funny though, is while I was up at my dealer getting my oil changed yesterday, I was talking with the owner. I told him I wondered what kind of gifts they were giving away. He said when they were in San Diego for the unveiling of the Spyder he got a new ipod as a gift. I wouldn't mind the new ipod Touch. One more gadget, hey. Maybe, I send you some of the hand me downs. LOL

That is why we needed you to go with us! ;D

There is no chance of us bringing a shop manual but I do have a quart of oil. I think we will risk going without the coolant also. If something mechanically bad happens, we'll view it as a chance to test out the Best Plus warranty.

Hope you all have a great time and document the event for those of us unable to attend. Can't wait to see
pictures and hear the stories! ;D

I wish I could make the trip.. Im about 3 hours from lamonster, but it is just not going to happen, have a safe one you guys, and take lots of PICS!!!! I will keep all of you in my prayers.
