• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

just a little venting...

There have been a couple SL's that have posted pictures of kickstands added to their :spyder2:'s. I am a bit devious--but have not gone there yet. :roflblack:

I thought about that to upon seeing pictures and figured if I had, most likely would trip over it and break a leg.:roflblack:

We have Bikers for Christ and M25 as well as CMA and some local ministries.

Any new club has to be approved (or acknowledged) by the dominate MC. When our RC was started 5 years ago, the three guys that started it met with all the MCs in the surrounding area to introduce the club, what we were about, and show our patch. There is only one motorcycle club that wont recognize us but they pretty much leave us alone.
Why in America does a club have to be "approved" by anyone--especially another club? This flies in the face of everything every vet fought for.

About 6 months ago there was a thread that kind of discussed what you are saying and it got pretty tense with all of the different perspectives and believe me I have my opinion too, but I will tell you what a biker told me. "It makes no sense because it is a different world, once you put a rocker or a patch on your back". Big picture, you are right sir we all should have the right to do whatever we want because of the men and women that fought and in some cases died for our freedom in the good ole USA. With that said, the reality is that there are people that will fight, kill, or even die for what they believe is the biker way of life. People like me who fear no man but want to go home everyday to my wife and child and not feel the need to watch my back every time I take a ride with my boys abide by the unwritten rules to keep the peace. It may indeed be wrong but I am not willing to fight a fight that will most likely cost more than I am willing to give.

When peeps have asked me my honest response CANT Compare it too a bike but its like a really fast street legal quad and it rocks..My two pennies D

So if you don't wear patches; you're good to go? :dontknow:

Well my understanding is, it is the patches and specifically anything that has the name of a city or town it indicates that your club is claiming a territory. Even if you are a religious group. From what I was told you may get a way with it for a while but eventually the big club or a support club will see your group and if it hasn't been discussed then trouble may come your way. Down here it doesn't matter if you call yourself a riding club, motorcycle club, or ministry you need to speak with the big dawg. I even confirmed this with some CMA members. It turns some people off but before you put a patch on in Texas you really have to think about the unwritten protocol. The "rockers" at the top and bottom of a back patch can also be an issue as well as the colors you choose to wear.

Thanks for this explanation!
I'll just ride nekkid; at night! It'll upset fewer people, and the folks that might be out at that time of night won't figure that it's unusual! :D

Criminals need to be incarcerated.

This has taken an interesting turn. The subject has come up before. General consenses--the three patch configuration can get you into trouble with the dominant group. A top rocker, a large group patch, and the bottom rocker is copy catting the dominant group. This can cause offense and problems.

The groups that wear patches here (not dominant)--usually have a top rocker and the main patch on the back (Includes Southern Cruisers)--OR--just a main patch.

We have the large patch with the RT Spyder Logo and a top rocker that says Alaska. Have encountered the dominants, and was not given any hassle. One even complimented us on the Spyders.

When in doubt--probably better to check around or not wear patches that can cause issues. Not meaning to start any controversy--just passing on information from my area.

I wonder if the New York Spyder Ryders would run afoul of the locals with their gear on a trip? :dontknow:

 How do you know who to call in these situations? :dontknow:

Sometimes they even have a website. Our local SC leader actually talked with the local HA and that is where I obtained my local information. I have run into the HA on the road and we ended up in a roadhouse where my previously mentioned encounter took place.

Bob, don't over think it unless you are ready to join the H.A. :doorag:. If someone starts a Motorcycle club or Riding club and plan to wear biker vests with names/ symbols/ colors on them then they should probably do a little research on the web or go where some real bikers hang out and make a little small talk about how things work. It could be a totally different set up where you are(although I doubt it). I am sure there are some folks who just start a club and will say "we have no problems" and that may be true because everybody doesn't be at the wrong place at the wrong time, but I am not trying to be that one person who did get caught...I look at it like this, as much as we want to say how different the world is we have to also admit that there are some things that have not changed so much. I wouldn't go to a small red neck bar in a little country town by myself and I wouldn't advise you to go to certain events that I might not be so out of place in. You just got to be aware of the things that go on even when we don't agree with them. That's the beauty of this site. Most of us only have one thing in common, the spyder, but that one thing brings us all together. You lock your office up everyday, but technically you shouldn't have to because the police stop crime but because we know everything doesn't work exactly how we want it to, we take precautions. Same thing here. Amen :p

Thanks for the re-assurance! :2thumbs:
Truthfully; the Hell's Angels and Pagans seem to bump into one another up here every couple of years... Somebody will get knifed in a barfight; it makes the paper, and then things quiet back down...
I honestly had never had to pay any attention to what a patch may signify to somebody; this has been enlighening!
