Just a few thoughts on my uncles RT.....

Well, I've had my '12 RS for a few years now and I really enjoy the riding style with the floorboards and ST seat upgrade. I had the chance to winter my uncles RT in my garage for a bit and I took it out. a couple of times to run it. Being 6'2, I noticed that the peg position makes it very cramped for me, much more so than my RS with the floorboards. Even a set of web boards would sit no lower than the peg's position, so I wonder if any of you tall fellows feel the same way. I mean, his RT is a great machine, but the RS feels more visceral to me.

Thoughts? It also seems like the seat position is too far forward, my legs are bent a lot more than I thought they would be on a touring machine.

I have owned both models. My preference is the RT. The RS felt more like a sport bike than a comfortable tourer--which is the way each were designed.

I added Seal Floorboards to both my 2010 and 2011 RT's. Height is the same, but lots of room to move the feet around.

I am 5'5".

Ryding styles....

you can always modify but each was designed for a style of ryding. Converting one to be the other is not always easy nor economical. Most just install crusing pegs to stretch out. :thumbup:
