• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am a paralyzed individual getting ready to pick up my new 2012 rs-s red and black (which is really orange and black) and have a few questions for all that would know.

First question is i want to put a slip on muffler on the thing right away and see some people have had problems with them popping during decel. and also other problems. If i buy a aftermarket muffler will i also have to buy the juice box and get it retuned or will i be ok if i just pick a exhaust of my choice and just slap it on? I saw in the cam am aftermarket booklet that they offer at the dealerships the hindle exhaust says its fine on the stock tune is this true with other pipes too?

Second if i do buy a pipe and install it does that void the warranty? i would think not just as long as i dont change the stock tune right? I can see them denying the warranty if i change the tune.

Please get back to me with the answers im very excited to get back in the saddle again just want to do the right things first thank you!

:welcome: and :congrats: on the new ryde. I am not the muffler expert--but there are some and they will chime in shortly.

I bought the 2 Brothers single pipe slip on first and I did have some backfire, but it never really bothered me and I never had it retuned. If you get the same pipe, or the 2 Brothers dual exhaust, the sell the 2 Brothers Juice Box Pro with preprogramed maps for those setups with a stock exhaust. I still need to get mine dyno'd since I also have the KewlMetal RS Performance Kit (replaces the OEM airbox/increased incoming airflow), but it has cured the backfiring.

As for the warrenty, I asked my dealer in San Diego about that asking if the airbox would void the warrenty, and the Parts Department and the Service Department both said that if it was found that that aftermarket part caused the failure, then it wouldn't be covered by warrenty, other than that, no.

Hope this helps you.

WELCOME! Len at CowTown should be able to answer all your questions. My understanding is that BRP pretty much has a no Mods policy as far as warranty goes but again, ask Len. Enjoy your new freedom and.......

BRP does sell the Hindle exhaust through the Dealers and it does not void the warrenty. It does sound pretty good and does pop sometimes. I found that the addtion of a K&N or other type of free flow air filter for some reason reduces the poping to just once in a while during rapid gear changes. Hindle is about $450 to $600 and the K&N is about $35 to $45 depending on area in the country and greed of the retailer.

I have the Hindle on my '09 RS SE5 and my Son has a 2 Brothers Aluminum exhaust. Both poped about the same and both got better with the free flowing air filter.

Bob, you are so right. I'm waiting for my '08 RS/GS SE5 to be delivered from FL and I've already spent a couple thousand in my mind on mods. Only the beginning, I suppose!!!!
