• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Jury duty and jury selection

Jeriatric

Thinks out loud
What an experience I had today. The judge(who is on loan from San Fransisco) did not mess around. He kicked five people out of the court room because they were completely inept. Then while selecting replacements for them one must have decided he could sneak out mid day. Because when called on he was no where to be found. So, without batting an eye the judge issued a $2500.00 bench warrant for him. And, it didn't end there. It was now the attorneys turn to eliminate jurors. By the time the three of them were done out of ninety potential jurors there were only about fifteen of us that had not been in the jury box.

My kind of judge......for sure!!

I remember the last time i had jury duty,When i went before the Judge the first question he ask me was what bumper stickers do you have on your car.:dontknow:
So i said NRA, AMA, And one other but i radder not say what it was. In no uncertain terms the Juge said i have to tell him or I'll find you in contempt. So i said ;Kennedy killed more people with his car then i did with my gun.
A short pause then he asked can you be fair, So thinking i didn't want to go back to the jury pool and sit around with 3 hundred of the great unwashed i said, Yes i can. 3 days on the trial and the defendant copped a plea, So i didn't get a chance to prove i can be fair.

Last time I had jury duty we ended up being hung after a week in court. Then when I went back to work I didn't have a job. It was at a pawn shop you've probably seen on tv. In a "right to work" state they don't have to provide a reason to fire you. As long as they don't say it was cause "you went to jury duty", there is nothing you can do. Loop hole the size of a semi truck. I will never serve again.

Based on what I have read about them they probably did you a favor.

Something to think about. One of the lectures that came from a very irritated judge yesterday came after he had informed what I will call new citizens that their lack of knowledge of our judicial system was pathetic. He had explained that men and women have, and were dieing this very day so they could live and participate in the system that makes America the great country it is. One of them....a new citizen in his thirties rebutted with this. Don't they get to choose whether or not they want to join the military? Talk about flaming the judge! He said yes, they have a choice and that choice is to preserve your right to our system of government. NOW, get out of my court room!
