• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

July Marcels Lowers Exhaust Problems

I was looking at the BRP windshield and it has the deflectors too. Has any body installed them and had the exhaust problem? Dealer told me the deflectors were supposed to reduce the back pressure, which seems like it would help prevent the exhaust fumes not make it worse. How much different are Marcels deflectors from the BRP ones?
Marcels are much larger. Bob

I just love how everyone chimes in to buy something else after the fact, oh well, I like my F3. Anyway back to the shutters, I looked at his website and saw pics of the shutters. I see they are very different than BRP's. Much more coverage; all the way to the windshield seems to be a good idea for the cold blockage. I really dont think drilling holes in them will help much. I think vents like he sells for the windshield might help but I don't like the looks of them. I wonder if you could open up the half circle hole in the middle of the windshield?

What they need is to be mounted on a pivot to swing in or out. Cool air when hot warm air when cold. Seen some like that on a Goldwing.

31" windshield, that must look like a big toenail riding down the street.
Why not enjoy the ride with some nice wind in your face, isn't that the freedom we long to enjoy:spyder:

We have the new BRP screen and deflectors on Carol's and yes at certain speeds the aerodynamics cause the wind to swirl (ie: goes up and over the top and loops down and back underneath you). This would effectively grab some exhaust odor and bring it back up in front of you and its been noticed also. I have no idea if the amount is similar.
As for the "its a motorcycle its supposed to have wind", I'd perhaps change that statement to "some" motorcyclists like wind. The tens of thousands of Goldwings and full dress Harley Ultra's attest to the fact that not all motorcyclists like wind. :ohyea:
Theres hundreds of reasons to like the open road experience of the spyder and motorcycles , wind is just one of the options you get!

I guess I just don't get the need for these shutters. Many complain about their legs getting too hot as it is.
