• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dropped off the wife's Impala this morning for service. The president/owner of the dealership, whom we know well, was in the service department when we walked in. He asked how we were doing and if we had been riding lately. During the conversation he asked how retirement was. I told him about working around the house, riding when we can, and working on small engines, my neighbors backhoe and forklift etc. He says, "well, if you want to work on cars and trucks I have an opening for you". I chuckled and said "yeah, right". To which he responded, "I'm not joking". After 45 years of turning wrenches I don't think I'm going back to full time.

He did say he wanted to drive my Spyder.

By the way, this dealership puts on a car show every year to raise money for the DAV. Last year they raised just over $7,000.

:agree: also. A part time gig can keep you "busier" if you feel the need. A little bit extra cash can't hurt either. Its great when you can dictate the hours also.

Keep us informed.

Always good to be asked even if its not going to happen...congrats you still got it..!! :2thumbs:

Have to admit, the offer was enticing. He was serious. I'm just not ready to go back, not full time anyway. I did tell him this afternoon if the position of shuttle driver opens up, I would be interested. Monday-Friday, 7:30 to noon, shuttling customers, why not?
