Thanks for that - all happened as forecast, the early am wind change turned the fire back on itself; rain front followed it thru & knocked the worst of the spreading fire; a couple of houses & out-buildings were lost, but no lives lost or injuries so far.

The fire is still burning in heavy & inaccessible bush, but there's over 200 Firies out on the containment lines and they're bringing in the next wave of fire-bombers as I type, hoping to hit it hard. Sorta need to tho; thunderstorms & gale force winds heading our way tonight/early tomorrow, and it's gonna be stinking hot again within a day or so!!
What's the forecast for wildfire activity the rest of your summer? Is it going to be as bad as last year?

Our usual Wednesday ride is now postponed until tomorrow when it will be about 10 degrees warmer. My riding buddies are a bunch of wusses..... I know most of you would jump at the chance to ride in sunny 55 degree weather right now. Stay safe..... Jim

It was cloudy, and the temps were in the 20's.

Tomorrow,we are getting a blast of cold weather, they are saying if you go outside, dress in layers, and be sure that the farm animals have adequate shelter. Keep your pets inside. Dangerous wind chills.

They are watching for a possible N' Or Easter on Monday into Tuesday.

The temps in the 20's and 30's next week.

Calm before the storm, today(Sunday Jan. 31,2021).

Starting on Monday afternoon, the snow will start falling, and will go until Wednesday. They are forecasting in the Southern part of Vermont 2 feet of snow, ( off topic excellent for snow mobile riders) back on topic, in my area they are forecasting 4- 8 inches of snow. ( off topic, excellent for the snow mobile riders, next week taking the sleds out for some exercise, hahahaha! ) back on topic, This storm will be a long duration which ends on Wednesday.

Then we get a break, on Thursday.

The next storm will be a messy storm, that one starts on Friday, this storm they are forecasting sleet, freezing rain, temps in the 40's.

Here in the Northeast we have had a very unusual kind of winter this year so far. Where I live we did not have our first snow fall until after Christmas, usually we have snow before Christmas.

Deanna

We were able to get out today for a little ride of about 240 miles. Sunny but cool this morning, but turned to the 70's in the afternoon. Great day for riding in southern Arizona!
