• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Jack It Up

What is everyone doing about working on the underside of the RT Limited? I have a motorcycle jack for my Nomad but wondering what the best method is for my new machine. Ramps, Jack, Dig a pit to drive over?

Got a lot to learn and don't want to re-invent the wheel.

The picture of the lift that Scotty posted is about the most cost effective tool to get your Spyder into the air with very little effort. Once the Spyder is airborne you can slide two axle stands under the front control arms and another one under the rear shock and then remove your lift to give yourself room to work away at the underneath of the Spyder in safety.

Now if money and space are not an issue then using a modified trike lift table is definitely the way to go. I admit to feeling a huge case of envy of those who have that set up in their garage. I have a great mechanics chair that would work oh so well with one of those tables....

Lift Points

That is the same motorcycle lift that I have for my Nomad. Are there certain points that are better, safer, and would cause no damage to the machine to lift it at.

jacking the RT...

If you already own a standard automotive jack, there is a less expensive option. Purchase a set of Rhino ramps (Advance Auto) for around $35. I typically back my RT's front wheels onto the ramps, then jack the rear of the RT and block under the rear wheel with 4 thicknesses of 2x8x8 that I have glued together. Backing the Spyder onto the ramps keeps them out front, and allows better access under the mid section.
