• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. J&M speakers, headset and cb antenna

I just purchased a Scopion 900 with the elite J&M head set installed, the front and rear replacement speakers and the cb antenna. I was able to install the cb and rear speakers and tried the helmut out today. I am not at all impressed with the J&M rear speakers and the head set is of no improvement in the speaker department, I will need to to do more testing so the jury's still out on the headset. I need to install the front speakers but it takes a lot more work than I had time for today.

Hopefully the CB works better as advertised otherwise I spend a grand on a helmut, lol.

Regards,

Randy

Check your helmet speaker locations. Normally the headsets work a lot better than anything else, but the location of the earpieces is critical. They have to be centered as close to your earholes as possible...in no case farther than 1/4"-1/2" to any side. I usually check by placing a finger in the helmet and feeling the relationship while wearing the helmet.

HEADSET

We have the cheaper preformance set from J&M in 3/4 helmets and they work great on the spyder. It took a little tuning in the audio system. We are thinking about going to the exo 900 though.

The head set is not bad, it just does not excell over the BRP one. I will take your advice and check the speaker location.

This helmut fits a lot tighter than my orgional one, I believe it has to do with the speakers. Hopefully it will loosen up with use.

Thanks

Randy

The key to helmet speaker placement is first knowing what it sounds like when the speakers are properly placed. Before installing, put the system together outside the helmet and simply hold the speakers against your ears. Move them around until you find that "sweet" spot, when the sound is as good as it gets. Now you know what it sounds like when you get them properly positioned in your helmet. No guessing needed, you know it when you hear it.

You should of got the top line j&m , that's what is my helmet and they rock . I turn off the out side speakers you'll get better sound that way. Also fine tune in the auto part and the sound will rock you . The jm lower ones are bad sound, very bad, up dat to the new ones you will like....

I did get the top of the line system that J&M sells and the system was preinstalled in the helmet by J&M so I would have to take the entire system out (it does not simply bolt on the side but is intergrated into the helmut such that the boom mike is all you see). As I said, it is ok, just not better than the BRP system in comparision. I will know more when I have a chance to drive for a few hundred miles but in the shop at idle I hear no difference.

Thanks

As I said, check the earpiece locations. J&M doesn't know where your ears are in relation to the helmet liner recesses, and could have got it wrong. If they padded over the earpieces, they did you no favors, either. In all liklihood, the earpieces could be readily moved a little. I'd contact them, and talk it over with them. Their products have a good reputation, and something is not quite right.
