• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I've seen some recent Posts...

Good idea

As stated above, Lamont is now quite busy so probably doesn't have the time to reign in the runaways. Perhaps he should enlist some help. How about Bob D? He is very diplomatic and has interceded in trying to reign in posts gone awry.

I agree with this idea, and wish Lamont will give the continuation/existence of the forum first priority in his decision. Or we will lose more great members.
when I started, I was faced with harsh comments, I stopped posting, but continued to read posts of others.

I am guessing the above is a position that no active member would like to be involved in. I still vote for common sense and tolerance for others opinions.

:agree: it's a rotten-enough task when your NOT active within the forum...
Once you start making friends; anybody that you "ding", will swear up and down that you're letting your friends get away with murder...:banghead:
I've been a moderator; it's not a fun task at all... nojoke

Besides; I came to dance! :roflblack:

Been doing a lot of watching and thinking. Sorry about that. :roflblack:

I personally do not like the idea of banning topic x or topic y. Common sense and decency should be a part of what gets posted though--IMO of course.

Lately, I have let some posts go by without any comments--mainly because I did not want to become part of a firestorm either pro or con.

If things get personal, then I think one should think twice or more before hitting the send button. I wont use the ignore feature, because even though I don't agree with everyone all the time, I still find valuable information and commentary.
:agree:

It's called "trolling" as in dragging a bait hoping someone bites...

A passive aggressive behavior exhibited by posting something in order to provoke a reaction or response. Trolls then sit back and laugh at the responses going back and forth gaining humor at the expense of others.

I used to watch this behavior in many online forums. Saw my daughter get dragged into things when she was younger.

My advice: Remember, you have no control over anything except how you respond.

I've been riding, 2,300 miles in the last week, and have not been keeping up with all the drama here. I have no idea who said what and I really don't care. I do care though when people get mad about posts simply because they don't agree with a poster's point of view.

We all have opinions and should be able to express them here.

Complete hijack for a moment... :opps:
I see that the NRA convention is in Nashville; next April.
