• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I've seen some recent Posts...

My wife loves country, wanna swap? Lol.

...nah, at least one of us would probably end up regretting it.

ThreeWheels,

I pretty much agree with everything you just said.

...although I am a little jealous that I don't have a hot, sexy girlfriend to go leaf peeping with. And my wife won't ride the Spyder.

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" Evelyn Beatrice Hall. No! Not Voltaire!!

 Don't follow me; I'm more lost, than you are! :yikes:

I find it interesting, that the ONE person who might have stepped in here to either explain, or apologize; has been silent...:dontknow:

Keep in mind, no one person can make another person angry or upset. The person who becomes angry or upset has allowed himself/herself to become so. No one can entice or force you or me to react in any particular manner. We are the ones who control our reaction. If you allow another person to cause you to be upset or angry you are ceding control of your emotions to that other person. Do you really want another person to control you?

I try to live by the philosophy, "If a fence is going to be built between you and me, you have to do the building."

Exactly! If a person has a "I'm gonna take my ball and go home" attitude when they get offended then I think maybe they should leave. I have never cared that much for someone who cannot take a punch and/or debate an issue with which they disagree without turning that spirited debate into an argument. It gets hot in here sometimes and if one cannot stand the heat then one should get out. My feelings aren't hurt easily and I'm probably on a few ignore lists. Bothers me not. I do know one thing for sure: Censorship is NOT the answer - never has been.

Nobody ever said, "Censor"; least of all me...
I just wanted to remind folks to keep in mind a few common courtesies, when you think that the other fella is completely wrong about tsomething, and you know the ONLY correct answer... :D

I agree everyone posting should think of common courtesies before hitting the send key. However I must disagree with you when you state that no one ever said "censor." The word itself is not being used but the actions being recommended by some (maybe not you) amount to censorship. A rose by any other name...

You know what I use as my guideline for typing?
I ask myself if I'd get upset, if somebody ever said this to my Grandparents...

It works like a charm!! :D

Good post Bob but remember it is a open forum and you know what they say about opinions. Like :cus: everyone has one. Agree have seen some sparks flair over nothing more then difference of opinions recently, and name calling is usually not a answer and really has no place. The local forum that I moderate has little tolerance for BS and it goes like this, Two verbal warnings by PM, next offense is week in the penalty box , where you can view but not post and if your dumb enough to do it a 4th time your banned. nojoke Its a small forum but everyone is local with once a month meetings and they need to be happy :D

Cool... :2thumbs:
Do you have any topics that are considered to be off-limits?
There are several in here, that seem to get threads pulled pretty quick...
And I've got to admit, that I have never read Lamont's warning about these topics :opps:; I suppose that I should be doing that right about now! ;)
I really don't see a need for not allowing certain topics... but I see an ABSOLUTE need for folks to respect the other guy's opinion along the way...
...Which can be a real problem if you just KNOW that they couldn't be more wrong... :D

So... is it better to take some topics off the table, or try to allow for unfettered discussions; limited only by everyone's desire to treat the other guy in the manner that they'd want to be treated?

Mainly anything deemed inappropriate is pulled but all the threads are looked at, and the BS that happened with Rodger the other day would of probably got dinged right away we use Vbulletin as well and there is a report post button that flags it to a mod, the little triangle on the lower left side. Difference of opinion is always gonna happen but name calling and childish BS just should not happen. It turns a fun place to talk into a 3 ring circus. I know Lamont is very busy but I would think there are other people on here watching to help him out.

Been doing a lot of watching and thinking. Sorry about that. :roflblack:

I personally do not like the idea of banning topic x or topic y. Common sense and decency should be a part of what gets posted though--IMO of course.

Lately, I have let some posts go by without any comments--mainly because I did not want to become part of a firestorm either pro or con.

If things get personal, then I think one should think twice or more before hitting the send button. I wont use the ignore feature, because even though I don't agree with everyone all the time, I still find valuable information and commentary.

This kind of personal is never a problem.:yes:

You mean the orange one with the gunfighter seat, the hood scoops, and the racing stripes?

Sorry, but I have not, and don't intend to. Cannot justify spending the extra dough. Both my current rides are paid for. They are not as "pretty," but they are going to have to make do for the next couple years or so.

UNHIJACK: ON :roflblack::roflblack:
