• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I've seen some recent Posts...

Bob and I don't agree sometimes, but he is still talking to me--I think? :roflblack:

Yup! We're good; Bro... :2thumbs:

Even though your handlebars are on the wrong end of the bike! :roflblack: :joke::joke:
Are you diggin' it more and more, each day?

AM I

if someone frequently posts things that bother or offend you, just put them on your ignore list. problem solved.

AM I ON ANYONES 'IGNORE LIST'.....? :shemademe_smilie: :dg2:

hmmmmm, if i am, they won't see this then, will they...... :roflblack:
Coz.... com'mon man, don't b the 1st 2 put me on that list.... :lecturef_smilie: :gaah:

I remember when they recorded We are the world back in the eighties, the sign in the studio was 'leave your ego at the door'i. I think the same should be applied here, when posting to the forum, wipe your feet and leave your ego, politics, religion at the door and of course be respectful.

As stated above, Lamont is now quite busy so probably doesn't have the time to reign in the runaways. Perhaps he should enlist some help. How about Bob D? He is very diplomatic and has interceded in trying to reign in posts gone awry. Besides he would only have to read 50% of the posts since he wrote the other 50% ;) (Of course I exaggerate). Also since we know Bob is a farkleholic, Lamont could provide him farkles for services rendered.

Whatever the outcome, I hope folks will pause to think before they post and also do not rise to the bait of another posters acrimonious prattle.

That have me concerned...
Which also concerns me, becuause this rarely ever happens to me! :yikes:
If you don't like what somebody has said; that's okay.
If we all liked the same things; too many of you would be following my Missus around anyway! :roflblack:
But when somebody posts something that is so obviously going to be perceived as inflammatory; why are they doing it? :dontknow:

My Grampa Denman used to define "Tact", as "the ability to tell somebody to go to Hell; and having them looking forward to the trip."
Disagreements are fine. The exchange of differing opinions is even finer...
But let's all try to use some tact along the way.
It'd make my Grampa smile a bit. :sour:

Off my soapbox now...

:agree:

Off my soapbox now...

Bob, I think I know exactly why you wrote this post. Have been pondering the subject all day long. Finally figured out the answer.

My brother-in-law loves to needle a person till he finds the right button. Then he's off and running with accusations, broad judgmental statements and anything else he can throw in to piss the person off more. He does it to any and all family members who steps foot in his house.

He did it to me just once, and won't talk to me anymore. I don't back down if I feel I'm right in an argument, and funny but I won't back up in boxing either. Just my nature...

Yeah, he stormed out of the room yelling I was selfish.

Figured out why he does that. He is the center of attention and has control of the conversation. You can either fuel his need for attention, or stomp it out.

Remember some of the old grandpas used to say "if you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything". Not all that bad as advice goes but has anyone besides me noticed a dramatic increase in anger and bitterness in society in general not just on this forum..... Something is going on out there. I hope its not the water..

not on it

Dan, you are not on my list, honest.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I started a thread similar to this a few weeks ago and we lost 2 good members :dontknow: during postings, so I am going to sit this one out!;):doorag:
