Got the call from the dealership today. My RT-S came in today. Now for the 528 mile trip to pick it up. I should have asked for the PE number. Will do that when I call tomorrow to set my pick up date. In case anyone missed it, I'M A LITTLE PSYCHED!!!!!!
I'm a huge proponent of staying local when buying something big $$ like this, that dealer you saved $ 400.00 on 600 miles away isn't comin to save you when you break down .... (maybe it was more $$, just a hypothetical example) In Orlando , there are few dealers in a "reasonable distance" and none of them has "horrible" service , in fact one is stellar. Long distance price shopping is Just not worth it to me , I build a relationship with a dealer, it is as important or more important than the price (to me anyways). Either way- Enjoy that RT!!!!
The dealership there is discounting the Spyder $1,600 under MSRP and throwing in $400 in after market accessories. Here They're asking just over $27,000 for the same bike. Both prices are before taxes, tag and title that I'll have to purchase here anyway when I get back home. It was a financial no brainer!

Trust me I called every dealership within 75 miles. Not 1 would even reduce their asking prices. Our Power Sports dealership here in Orlando closed his doors about 4 months ago. Lack of business. Geat bunch of people. Sorry to see them go. They were at least ready to barter. Asking over $2000 over MSRP not including the $400 in free after market accessories and not willing to deal at all, I'll make the road trip. All of the dealerships in the area know me personally. I was a chromeaholic. The dealerships were the only ones to service my vehicle and put on any after market pieces. They'll be glad to see me. I may have burned my bridge at one, asking them if they ever wondered why so many dealerships in Florida are closing and telling them they were the highest asking price anywhere but they have a very low satisfaction record anyway. They even asked me where I intended to get my srrvicing done and I politely said obviously not with YOU! You were lucky. You found a dealership to work with you. Like I said for me it was a financial no brainer.actually on another forum I read this .......
so $2,000 would get me to go, (maybe not $400, your reasoning is sound there.) I too would go for 2K......
but what i did was i got the final #'s in writing and then I showed the closer dealership, and they said they would match the price:clap: Gotta play hard ball, everybody is out to make a buck.
Thanks much:2thumbs::spyder2:Congrats !!!!!!!!!!!
OK, "What's your sign"?At the risk of appearing dumber than a bucket of rocks, plus being kind of new here, could one of you old timers please clue me in as to WTH this means. I'm thinking it's some kind of secret Spyder Code....Len
