It began to Thunder last Thursday and checking out the skies it did look like rain. But, it didn't and biker's were beginning to head into town for Thunder Beach. Saturday more arrived and while in a store, I talked to several who met in Daytona at Biketoberfest and lived in other states.
This year they decided to come to Thunder Beach. They heard about the friendly atmosphere here and saved vacation time to come here instead. The few I talked to, some were from South FL and others came in from TN and KY Saturday. I was asked where I was from and told them, I moved here from CT about 10 years ago. I gave them some advice and the first was to watch your speed and the second was to wash and keep a good coat of wax on the chrome parts. It doesn't take long for the pitting to begin and they thanked me for that information.
Looking at the Spyder, one said that's one thing you don't have to worry about, chrome. But, I still treat the metal with an anti-corrosive and to do that, the panels come off. They were heading out to eat and asked where is a good place to go? I told them it depends on what you in the mood for and after almost 10 years here, I haven't found a bad place to eat. One said how about a buffet and I sent them to Capt. Jacks just down the road, where the crab legs are plentiful. They thanked me again and also said we will be looking for you on the road. I told them to enjoy your vacation here, have a lot of fun and most of all be safe.
I've been looking forward to the fall rally, ever since the end of the spring rally and am exited its finally here. Its cooler here even with the temps in the low 80's and not as humid as it was in the middle of the summer season. Looking at the weather, sure there will be a passing shower but no rain days in sight for now. :thumbup:
