• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

It's Been One Of "Those" Days....

First, I wake up at 3 am and can't go back to sleep. I have to be at work at 6 am......

Then, my Jeep (it's cold and rainy here) decides to act up and turn itself off whenever I come to a complete stop (at a red light)..... :gaah:

Then I go to my union meeting at work. My job has decided to "generously" offer (note sarcasm there....) what amounts to a 17% pay cut over the next 3 years.:shocked::shocked:

#1: I can live on a lack of sleep for a day. It still starts the day off kinda poopy though....

#2: It's a 2003 Liberty..... This is only the 2nd real problem I've had with it, and IT'S PAID FOR!!!! I ain't a' gettin' rid of it!!!!

#3: HOLY CRAP BATMAN!!!! There goes the Spyder and possibly my house!!! It's me and 2 dogs here, and I'm the only one that has a job that pays actual cash!!!! (they have the job of protecting me and my house) I can always "store" the Spyder somewhere else.... The house, not so easy to move and store....

I'm 43, only the house and Spyder for debt, and I will probably have to get a part-time job to supplement my full-time job. What the hell is wrong with that picture???!!! Sigh..... I'll figure it out somehow. Until then, I'm going to try to save up as much moolah as I can. :banghead:

We can relate.......... seems this boat gets more crowded by the day

Its just me, The Tedster, his pet cat Skydie and our homeboy Louie the Chinchilla. We're very close to be'n in the same boat. Gotta paid-off 01 Cougar that aint ran in almost a year now. Condo & SpYder were my two biggest bills til all my OT got cut-out at work about 9 months ago, then it was living on those dang credit cards to make it. After losing everything in a fire right before buying the condo (hence the need) its been kinda hard to rebuild & we all know SpYder Addictions AINT Cheap!!!!

Luckily for us tho, we just voted to hopefully Approve our new Contract, & for the most part, ours is better than many cause of all the concessions we gave up mid-contract to help keep the company afloat.

Have faith in knowing that, as I, your NOT alone. The SpyderLovers.com Community is WAY MORE THAN JUST A FORUM, its an Extended Family, and like any, it has its jerks. But for the MOST part, its FULL of fellow Spyder Enthusiasts that also care about the person behind the SpYder. A VERY UNIQUE & CARING crowd to say the least . . . (IMHO)

Teddy & I are adding you to our  list, hope you don't mind some POSITIVE ENERGY headed yur way

As far as management taking a pay cut... the supervisors above us peons will end up in the same boat. They are just starting negotiations. The city's "upper management" (i.e. the mayor, his lackeys (insert "assorted family members" here), police chief, fire chief, etc) will not be giving up anything. Our union reps are peons just like us, and most of them just settled their contract with the 17% pay cut.

Yes, I'm a public employee..... If you have to call 911 in Toledo, OH, it just might be me (between 6am and 2pm) that answers your call.....

Hopefully, I will win the Powerball jackpot tonight and not have to go to work any more!!!:ohyea:

Thanks for the positive energy!!! I'm actually shooting for 2nd prize in the Powerball!! My house will be paid for, and so will my Spyder!!!

:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:lol,,,,,,Just jerking your chain. BTW any inside info on the numbers?
I'll pay of your house and Spyder.

One of my best friends loss his job yesterday right after he paid 10K cash for a bike. It could be worst. nojoke

OUCH!!! That sucks!!!

Believe me, I'm VERY grateful to still have a job in this economy!!! I'm fortunate enough to still be "right-side up" with my house, so it shouldn't be a problem to refinance if I have to. My bank worked with me a couple of years ago when we thought this was going to happen. Shaved $100 off the payment!! I have faith in them helping again if necessary!! I know they don't want another foreclosure on their books, and I went to them waaaaaayyyy before anything actually happened. That is a good thing in their way of thinking!! I've never missed or been late on a payment, so that's in my favor as well.

As for the Spyder..... I'm almost a full payment ahead as it is, and I've only had it since July 5th!! Woo Hoo!!! I rounded up to the next hundred and that's what I send in! I'll do that as long as I can, then go from there.

I figure I'll do my best to save as much as I can until we actually have a contract (it wouldn't start until Jan 1st anyway). I can save my tax return money and let it gain what interest (pfft!! what a joke that is) it can before I have to dip into my savings account. I have faith that it will all work out in the end. I can't sit here worrying about that part of the future ALL the time!! I'll make myself sick!!! What will be, will be...... :)

The Jeep is fixed!! Gummed up throttle body and needed new spark plugs!! At least it was a relatively cheap fix..... Could have been muuuuuuuch worse!!

Glad to hear the Jeep is good to go. In the company I work for when we were not able to get a raise (two years in a row) no one got one, not even the CEO etc. In 09 the top 7, CEO etc. didn't take incentives but we (service Reps) could get ours. They said we were the ones that earned them. Not many companies will do that. You seem to have a handle on things and can plan ahead, that's great. Not many folks have the foresite to do that.

We have a mayor here that was the fire chief. He retired WITH a full pension. Then he went on to be the state fire marshall. Retired from that WITH a full pension. Yeah.... He now gets 2 full pensions plus $120,000 a year to be mayor---and will get a pension from that too!!! He doesn't feel he needs to take a paycut..... or pay more for his health insurance..... just us peons have to..... JERK!!!!

I seem to be one of only a handful around work that is thinking ahead to what is coming down the pipeline!! I've known something like this was coming for the past year and a half. I have put a LOT of thought into it. Been trying for a while now not to pile up more debt..... and then I buy a new motor-sickle..... :roflblack: I figured you only live once, so what the hey???!!! I may have to eat ramen noodles for a while, but at least my belly will be full!!! :D I'm just trying not to stress myself out too bad. It's coming and there's not much anyone can do about it except go with the flow.
