• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Its a sad day

took a trip down to Boise Idaho last week. it was my first long trip on my spyder. the trip down was great. took a little longer then I had expected. but it was my first trip over 200 miles. left Mountain Home on Sunday noticed the my spyder was running rough. I had no issues on the way down. so i pulled over on the next off ramp. There was smoke coming out from the front and before i could do any thing it was burning out of control. the nearest fire station was 10 miles away by the time they got there the bike was a total loses.

What a tragedy. I am glad to hear you are OK. The bike can be replaced. I suppose as yet you have no idea what happened?

Sorry to hear about the fire. I agree the previous post, main thing is that you're safe.

By your profile the pic show a 2013 or earlier RT. Is that correct? Was there any work done to it lately?

yes 2013

I had the recall done in Aug.
Took a few short rides

Really like they way they handle

Since SpyderAnn has gone through this before, she would be a great resource if you have questions. Contact your insurance company and I agree you should contact BRP.

It looks like yellow is a bad color. :yikes:

Sorry to hear about the spyder fire, and Glad that you are ok, safe. Deanna

Glad ur okay! Makes you wonder what's up with some of the spyders especially since you had the recall done. I agree with others I would contact BRP about this?:yikes:

Echoing what's been said

Glad to hear you're okay! I also have a 2013 RTS and had the recall done back in July. I don't know if this is related in anyway to the recall. About a month after the recall I noticed I would get sharp temperature spikes on the thermostat I would continue riding and temp would go back within normal range. This past August I was out for a ride and it happened again only this time I noticed the fan wasn't coming on while in stop & go traffic. It turned out to be the fan relay wasn't functioning properly. Do you think it's possible the same thing happened to you only your bike actually over heated and burst into flames. I now keep a spare relay just in case.

That must have been quite the experience, good thing you pulled over when you did. Glad to hear your are ok.

Glad you are OK, and like it has been said, the Spyder can be replaced. Living in Everett you are near a great Dealer at Lifestyle Honda in Mt. Vernon. Got mine there and Curt was a great guy to deal with.
Ken:clap:
