• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This time of year we sleep with the window open. Warm days and cool desert nights. Spring time brings out the wildlife activities along with their mating noises. At dawn it gets pretty noisy. Lots and lots of bird calls. Most are very soothing. One is annoying. It is that damn wood pecker that thinks our fake metal cactus plant is real. For the last couple of mornings that darn bird is outside our window attacking a metal cactus with abandon. I hope his beak gets lockjaw and falls off..... I like my morning sleep

BWA HAAAA HAAAAA!!!

I can sympathize with you here in S. Tempe. It used to sound like a pet shop in our neighborhood 20 years ago but the spread of the city has resulted in many less birds. Doesn't stop the dogs though.

Pesky....

Did a lot of repairs from them on the siding used on CT homes...:banghead: glad I didn't live in them while they chiseled through... apparently they are protected..:banghead:

Snow dampens noise.

Very quiet here----- the 4" of snow we got in the last few hours is only the beginning. The weather guessers are talking about over 4 FEET :yikes: at the crest of the Sierras. Glad I like to ski. They call this Miracle March----- as the central Sierra Nevada will sometimes get a real series of winter storms through March. But this weather may not bode well for the center of the country next week.

It's a cactus wren and I suggest a pellet gun.
They are little destructive territorial demons and will not leave willingly.
I had a pair destroy a saguaro cactus in my front yard and bore a couple holes in the eaves of my house when I lived in Arizona.
I tried transistor radios, pie tins, fake owls and any other suggestions I could find, only thing that worked was a well placed pellet after 2 years of it.
Good luck.
