• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Issue with RTS Air suspension

A little history here...When I first purchased my RTS, I had an issue where the air was leaking form the air bag, so the airbag was replaced. Spyder seemed fine for a few weeks when riding single or with both me and wife. Was able to adjust ride either hard or soy, no issues. Then on a long ride, the bike seemed extremely stiff. When I hit the adjust button, it was in manual mode with the left side orange. I took it to the dealer and the said a nut was off on some arm that the Spyder used to know where level was. This caused the pump to run and filled my bag to over 100 lbs..."ouch". They fixed it and it seemed fine for a few weeks. Then the same issue happened again, and this time they use loctite and a nylon lock nut. Again, all fine for a bit. Now the new issue"
Riding solo, all is fine.
Riding with wife, Spyder goes into manual mode.
I am able to add or let out air with switch. (even though in manual mode). If I add air, owlet a lot out, when stopping bike then getting on again, the bar has moved to correct location, but afet about a mile, back to manual mode.
ACS Position SensorChanged.
Pressure Valve CHanged.
Waiting to hear back what parts they will try now. I did notice some wires going into the seat. Is that a switch of some sort that tells the spyder there is two ryders, and do you think that could be the cause? I feel the pump may be bad from all the above issues, and just can not get enough pressure to fill the bag with two ryders, and the system gives up????
Only other thing is my cluster was changed a while back, and dealer says maybe that is the problem. I really do not think so as when I ride solo, no issue.
Sorry for being so long winded, but I have been trying to figure this out. Good news, it does not stop us from riding!!
Appreciate any ideas...

Rich

sorry to hear your problems continue. I hope this time through the forum one of our teckies will give you some ideas

My guess is that the ACS sensor is not properly calibrated. When your wife gets on, the sensor passes out of the set limits, and the system reverts to manual. There is a (revised) calibration procedure in one of the service bulletins. Have your dealer make the required height blocks for setting the limits, make sure the sensor is correctly mounted, and calibrate the limits with BUDS.

Thanks Scotty...some good information there. I will pass this along to my dealer first thing in the AM.

Ended up being a bad pump. With one person on, the pump could do adjust as needed, but with two, the computer was telling it to add air, but after a period of time I guess the computer just went into manual mode. All is fine now, working as it should.
