• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Have you jacked that wheel off the ground, and given it a good spin yet?
Try gabbing it qith your hands 180 degrees apart, and give it a good rocking "Shake"...
If you can do that, and it DOEs move around in your hands ; it's time to give those bearings a look at the inside of your garbage can.
Good Luck!

Have an 08 with about the same mileage

I have replaced all of the front end parts, some a couple of times, but I don't think I've had any issues with the wheel bearings.

Curious..!!

when you say you switched the tires side to side are you running directional tires..?? Unless you unmounted them and remounted them you should switch them back. With 40,000 miles on your dearings you might just replace them. Did you check the brakes disks and pads..?? Let us know what you find..!! :dontknow:

You popped the brake caliper loose to make sure that nothing is rubbing or touching it as the wheel spins? :dontknow:
(I'm just sort of free-associating with anything that might/maybe/ought to/ or could come in contact down there...)
Once you eliminate all other possible factors; what's left just HAS to be the one!

Check your wheel balancing weights (knicking the caliper assembly), to make sure that's not the culprit

BINGO

Check your wheel balancing weights (knicking the caliper assembly), to make sure that's not the culprit

BINGO..... YOU WIN OLDDOOD....

PROBLEM SOLVED... I PUT A MARK ON THE WHEEL, AND WATCHED WHERE IT WAS WHEN THE 'CLICK' HAPPENED... then i looked 360 to see a counter-weight that was making contact, ever so slightly, with the caliper... then i thought, "this can't be, because i switched the wheels from side-2-side yesterday".... so i switched them back, and WA-LA, same condition....

well folks, thank you all for your help and concern.... and hopefully, should you have the same issue, you will remember what the 'fix' is...

Glad to hear that you found it!!:ohyea::yes:
(And how can those weights be added; without somebody checking for clearance? :dontknow:)

B'cuz my SPYD3R wasn't there when the tires were balanced.... my bad.... i pulled the wheels off my SPYD3R, had my tire shop switched tires from rim-2-rim, and rebalanced... so those guys had no idea about clearance or location.... again, my fault.... :lecturef_smilie:
